Adams will get it right in the long term I'm sure of that. It was wrong to get rid of Wilkins but what is done is done. No point sacking Adams, we need stability to build for the team at Falmer. Dick Knight is a lame duck. Completely out of touch with footballers demands and penniless. Sadly although I love the guy for what he did he is just a front for the cash of the Blooms and he is not doing a very good job anymore. Things will be okay in the long run, but short term, this season, its more of the same. Credit crunch certainly won't have helped, but also Knights attitude to agents is causing problems. WHy would agents chose Brighton to send players to when they can have an easier time elsewhere? Agents aren't going to go out of football just because one chairman stands against them. He has to play the game and accept that players and agents demands are higher than he considers should be paid. The money the club has lost in lost revenue from losing the impetus (sic) gained from Adams return could have paid for a couple of decent players. Investment in the squad is desperately needed particularly in midfield and it needs to happen before next Saturday if we are to have a chance.

I think you've got some really valid points there...I was speaking to a Leeds supporting friend and he was saying that because of the likes of Leicester, Forest & Leeds playing in this league in recent seasons, the average salary has doubled and we're allegedly still trying to sign players based on salaries 5 years ago.

I agree with you with the players agents as well. Whilst he may have had really good reason to, it's not good to come out in the press and criticise them as they'll just recommend their players don't come down here. Unfortunately, despite what we and the board think of them, players agents are such an integral part of the game now.

I admire the principle and the stance the club has taken in the past, but times are changing for us and it's all very well being principled and saying that the club isn't going to be held to ransom and pay outside the current salary scale for a player, but then how are you going to attract the sort of player that we should be. The club should now be looking at attracting those players who should be playing in a team which, by the end of the first season at Falmer, should be top half of the Championship.

I fear that the club will struggle to stay up this year, in a season which by rights we should have been knocking on the door of the play offs again. It's all good and well saying that Adams is in for the long haul, but it's results and league positions that matter in football and if the manager and the board don't deliver on both fronts, then someone other than the team has to take responsibility.

As far as the playing side is concerned, I'll always back Adams and Knight so long as they're doing a good job however, I'm starting to have reservations that they can take the team forward in the right direction.

Leeds is not the most important game this month anyway. Ideally we will have some new players in by the Cheltenham game (assuming they lose in the FA Cup this week) as that is the must win game.

We signed our first player of the transfer window on this date last year (that was Shane Mcfaul), we were almost as bad then. I'd rather wait and get decent quality players then sign players like McFaul and Dixon just for the sake of it.

I think people can only judge our dealings in the transfer window when it is over. I don't think people can seriously suggest that the club isn't doing everything they can to add to the squad. If, come the end of the transfer window, we haven't signed the quantity or quality required, then I will be amongst the most vitriolic protestors. However, trying to use the current situation as a stick to beat the club with is incredible, even for this board.
