i am looking forward to a mass traipse from the downs hotel woodingdean at 14.30/45 over the falmer road depending on your bladder. i might just do the plough rottingdean and boot it all the way though.

scoombers will have a different view no doubt.

there will be plenty doing the lewes road boozers.

has anyone already planned this?

As I'll be getting the choo choo, I think I will mostly be drinking around the Portslade Station area prior to kickoff.

I bet the Railway (London Road) can't wait.

I'd probably drink in there, or one of the pubs in that area. Not the Open House though.

Of course, any answers to this question, will have to hope that said pubs have not gone bust in the meantime during 'the great depression re-visited'

no chance of the rottingdean pubs going bust with my family.

Once I have won the Lottery, I intend to buy The Swan, and open it only on Saturdays.

More relistically, hopefully there will be somewhere on site that I can drink (but not in plastic glasses, having waited 1/2 an hour to get served.)

I would much rather put my money back into the Club's bank account.

Agreed even if the pints are £3.50-£4.00 at the ground, provided there was a nice place to drink i'd rather line the pockets of the club than some Lewes based boozer

Either the Railway or the Open House. Deffo one or t'other.

Seems to me to be like equivalent of the Brewery Tap/Crown&Anchor scenario for local PP people. One is a tad snotty and up itself with decent food, t'other is a proper old boozer with not a lot in the way of facilities and strange old men dancing to music only they can hear. Know which one is far more likely to get the THPP pound.

Of course if the club were smart, they'd lure us in to Falmer earlydoors with a dazzling array of splendid bars boasting a full range of tasty snacks and beverages. Suspect they'll miss that particular trick tho and provide something as rubbish as a Sportsman equivalent.

What's wrong with the Hiker's Rest? Proper Albion pub and less than a mile to walk. It's got crap beer but you can't have everything...

Which is why we need the Supporters' Bar.

If all the provide is a Carlsberg/Tetley shitty corporate fizzy gaspub, they won't be getting my dosh, so here's hoping.

Aside from that, Open House (which, despite the up-their-arse barstaff, looks after its Harvey's pretty decently) will probably be getting my custom pre-match.

I disagree with that. Each to their own, but I think we line the pockets of the club enough. Matchdays for me are about beers in a nice pub somewhere, then onto the ground. If the club come up with something quality then great, but if its just Carlsberg in the concourse, I won't feel guilty about spending money elsewhere!

If I was living where I do now, then Lectern followed by onto the ground sounds like a plan.

Replicating what Orient have wouldn't be a bad idea.

Great range of beers, nice modern bar but with a good atmosphere, giood prices and best of all - decent service :albion2::albion2::albion2:

agreed in principle but they do have the benefit of a high road with plenty of non aggro pubs within walking distance too, thats the difference.

Does either have a pool table?
