Christmas starts when it gets dark on Saturday 24 December.

Christmas starts here on about the 6th December. That is as far as I can get before giving into the Small Peoples demands for decorations and lights!

Just a few weeks and it'll all be over and you all can get back to moaning about the lack of forks or something ;-)

Decorations usually go up around the 13th and come down very early in the new year 2nd or 3rd. Must admit though the xmas music rears its head in early november and has been heard as early as September.

In the shops it starts in August or September.

For me it always starts around my birthday which on the 7th, that is around the time when we used to get a tree and put up the decorations, no earlier.

Although Advent starts 4 weeks out from Christmas Day, from memory, so that is when it officially starts from a religious point of view IMHO
