I'm fortunate in that I have access to a reasonable amount of cash, but you don't need to have the same. You can start relatively small and build up.

I'm lazy and didn't want to be constantly withdrawing and depositing across accounts so I largely let money sit where it was. I also had a theory that this may help escape account scrutiny, but that's just a guess. Most of the other PS members seem to withdraw and shuffle money around as much as they need to.

I find keeping large amounts of cash in the bookmakers accounts stop me from getting "gubbed". the smaller bookies I withdraw from tho as have seen so many go under.

After a particularly heavy night I ended up in the Market Diner. There was this old gentleman singing Phil Collins' One More Night. Must have been 1989 or 1990. Anyhow he got up went and left a newspaper which I started to look at. He'd circled a horse called One More Night which I thought I'd put £50 on which won at 3-1 so I was £150 up.

Never come close to betting that much before or since.

14k in 5 months no way?! You must be doing the offers 24/7 at that rate

Nope. I'd say there aren't enough offers to fill the time I could devote to it.

Unfortunately being lazy I don't keep granular records of where my profits have come from. The one record I do keep now is that I tally my account balances at the end of each day so I have a running composite total.

As such although I can tell you I made £3566.11 in February and £4411.39 so far in March, I can't break down where from.

I know some of the bigger wins, eg a slot loophole where I made £1700 and the Douvan race at Cheltenham where I made about £1100 but that's about it.

The latter is an illustration of some of what feels like black magic. I'd bet on every horse in the race such that I could not lose. I had £750 alone on Douvan to win, but wanted him not to win. He didn't, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

Anyway, back on topic. I can't recall my biggest ever bet, but I think it was around £4-5,000 on an odds on favourite in a horse race I couldn't even watch at the time. I was pretty close to being a gambling addict and was chasing a loss that started with a £20 loss on an Andy Murray tennis match and snowballed as I placed bet after bet to win back what I'd lost.

Fortunately I came to my senses when I was contemplating one more bet to try and recoup my newly increased losses. The ridiculousness of searching for a short odds 'dead cert' that I'd have to put £10k+ on hit me and I pretty much stopped gambling there and then, although cunning fergus can tell the tale of when I slipped off the wagon once.

Matched betting is ideal for me because I am just following a process and not actually gambling at all. For example I had a bet of £3,000 on England to beat Lithuania on Sunday, but my exposure on the game was just £3, whatever the outcome.

Fiver on a fixed dog race in 1981. The only time I staked. I lost the bet. WTF?

If you include Poker as gambling/betting Ive played the WSOP Main Event a couple of times which is a $10k entry.......did win the money beforehand but still had to trundle up to the counter and hand the $10k cash over!!

usually end up about 2.5k up on footy betting. Usually lay out £25 a weekend.

Biggest winner was a a cpl seasons ago where i won £1000 off £1

come one win away a few weeks ago from 30k off 50p.

Lost £350 on those horrible roulette machines in the bookies. Was only playing £10 a spin... covering 10 numbers. Didn't get one winner.

I'm going to put something together to introduce people to matched betting, a Profit Squad-lite, if you will. I would strongly urge people to join Profit Squad, if they can, but I fully understand why many were reluctant to do so. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. So I want to 'coach' a small group into matched betting, allow them to learn the ropes, build up a bank and then, if they want to progress, I'd suggest they join Profit Squad to properly kick on.

For those who were cynical about Profit Squad, I hope you'll trust my word on the results I have personally experienced. I've just gone over £14,000 in profit since I started, over about 5 months or so. I can't promise everyone will do as well, but I've learned a lot over that time and I'd be happy to help others on here. Even if you just earn enough to pay for your next season ticket then stop, that would be a good result.

If you really want to get started with Profit Squad without my coaching, CLICK HERE FOR A £1 TRIAL.

Interested in this pls mate......can u give some more info or drop me a PM?

Your talking out of your bottom.

I have no idea if he's telling the truth or not but why would someone lie about losing 20 quid on a race in a random NSC topic?

Oh btw Ernest betting history on Paddy only goes back to 1/1/2016 so I suppose you'll just have to proclaim me a liar as well :drama:

Crikey, there's a lot of people on this thread with money to burn by the sound of things!

I bet maybe between £10 and £15 on a Saturday over three or four different footy bets. Biggest ever single stake bet I have done in my life was £10 e/w on the National. Fortunately it was the year Amberleigh House won it at 16/1 and only picked it because my step-daughter is called Amber and best mate called Lee.

Had a tip whilst in the local pub one saturday afternoon, a 12-1 shot. Collected a fiver from 10 of the regulars, plus a tenner myself and stuck it on at the bookies down the road. £720 plus stakes back. It was a great afternoon/night in the pub.

Unfortunately, for some former addicts, being back betting environment can trigger relapse into the actual betting itself. You make some money with matched betting, you decide to have some flutters with some of your earnings as they are essentially free bets, you lose your bets, you try to get back up to the level you were previously ... and so you relapse and the cycle begins again. This happened to me. Relatively speaking, I was never a big addict, my life has never been ruined by it - but I have done some stupid things, and I was certainly somewhere on the linear continuum. The problem with matched betting is if you want to make the most out of it, you have to take up so many different offers at so many different times such that it is always on your mind. Personally, for me, it's not worth it, especially as most people won't have the daily free time to take up the amount of offers that you are taking up to make to amounts you have.

Saturday racing can be the most lucrative, which has been handy when we've not been playing, if you go with the Betfair Sportsbook, Bet365 and Betway offers combined.

The regular WH High 5 offer can be good almost any day of the week, and their 4 Means More is also a good one.

It's across these that I've probably done best.

My biggest single bet was 17 years ago, £110 on Dubai Millennium to win the Dubai World Cup, which it did. Don't think the odds were great, but remember needing the money for a big piss up in the afternoon. Was a student at the time.

The story the poster was referring to was a scene from Bottom (Rik Mayall & Ade Edmondson). This is why I said you are talking out of your bottom.
