I was working with two African ladies the other day. One from Sierra Leone and one from Ghana. They were telling me at great length that the problem with the Britsh is that we allow everyone to come to the UK and let them to say and do whatever they want as if they are still living in Afghanistan or some other primitive hell hole.

I was interested to hear this critique from women from countries that I would consider as hell holes too...so that's it then. People taking the piss.

Personally I'm in favour of immigration...the UK jobless totals are still falling despite the arrival of poles, Albanians, Romanians et al. The problem will REALLY come when the economy collapses again and jobs are scarcer to come by. Hundred of eastern European accents wherever you go will not be so exotic then I suspect.

As for Islam. The faith really needs to sort itself out. Secular Britain has no place for primitive religious ideas and practices. It would be great to see more Muslims marrying non Muslims and integrating more...but that ainta gonna happen. I propose, therefore that every third Muslim be compelled to marry an atheist or C of E tambourine basher. Instant harmony between the cultures.

The problem is the mass scapegoating and blowing the 'problem' out of proportion.

My wife is terrified of women who wear burkas. France has banned it and I would be happy to see it go here.
The European Court of Human Rights would like to see a ban too.

Terrified? Seriously? It's just a bunch of overly modest women whose husbands don't want any other man to look at them which is perfectly reasonable behaviour in the 21st century. I tried starting my own trend of going out dressed in a white sheet and wearing a big white wizards hat with little eye holes cut in it...I planted a big burning cross outside the mosque as a symbol of my burning love of religion and raised my right arm in salute to Allah.

I got a right kicking. So much for building bridges

Yes, it really frightens her and she always wants to leave the shop.

And yet you seem unable to backup this post when you were challenged :

Absolutely resent UKIP. They claim to represent what We think as a country. When we argue with them they say "well it's what we were all thinking". Hell, they even quote World War Two as being the war which was fought to ensure Liberty. The liberty to afford those of all colour and creed to simply exist. Which is extremely ironic given that they seem to have an irrational, misguided hatred toward Jews, LGBT, Immigrants and Muslims.

They can piss off back into their festering gutter.

Pedantic maybe but . . . . . they haven't banned the burka they've banned full face coverings which obviously outlaws the wearing of the niqab. It also bans the use of any other type of mask in public - wonder what happens regarding public fancy dress parties and kids at halloween. ???

Reading this thread it would appear that the main issue with immigrants is they give the Bien Pensants a chance to bash the British working class. The native Brits are all workshy scrounging fat chavs who turn their noses up at low-paid jobs and if it wasn't for all those marvellous hard-working immigrants the country would come to a halt. Then the workshy scrounging Brits have the audacity to complain when the decent workers that the capitalist class have shipped in put pressure on all the local amenities. Not that the Bien Pensants would know about that as it's not happening in the areas where they live.

A crap poll that trivialises a complex and multi-faceted issue. Obviously just introduced so that said Bien Pensants can laugh when the inchoate rage comes out in poorly-thoughtout soundbites.

Have you been tested?
Any symptoms?

I was working with a Nigerian last week and am feeling a bit coldy today as it goes. I must go out and smear my bodily fluids on people I enjoy socialising with otherwise I'll be on my own in the isolation ward.

Because you hardly see a burka being worn down this way, nobody sees this as a problem, however when I was living in Luton I used to see quite a few women wearing this garment. Made me feel uncomfortable. Seemed me it was more of a statement and two fingers up to our own culture if I am honest with you.

Bit of a loaded poll. Where is the option for there isn't one?
There's big issues pal and you like many on here are blinded because you're not affected by immigrants taking your job.The influx of foreigners is crippling low earners, low wages will never improve til that bloody door is shut and job competion is rife.

I'd expect nothing other than this from many on here as its full of lefties who're clearly are not even affected by immigrants.
