2nd runway at Gatwick
Norwich away - was in the ground and watching the lads warm up when all the lights went off
Been to a fair few home ones that got called off too - there was our Friday evening pre Christmas game a few years back (can't remember who we were playing and a New Years Day one where it got rained off as well as Leicester city at the Goldstone one year. I also remember being in the pub prior to BHA v Cardiff and that got rained off too so we decided to go to the nearest game that was on - we were just about to leave to try to get to Aldershot when that got rained off too - so we got merrily pissed instead

Walsall, got to Heathrow area from Brighton before word came on the radio that the game had been postponed.

Was that the one in 69/70?

If it was I had hitched to Birmingham on the Friday evening and slept in a shop doorway. Wasn't 'til I reached the ground in the morning that I found out it was off.

That's the one I was on about in my opening post. I have a vague recollection of it being against Gillingham?

Way out west
From North London to Victoria to catch a train for a home game in about 87, think it might have been against Reading, there had been heavy snowfall and the game was postponed...there were signs on the departure boards to say the game was off.

Weirdest one for me was Mansfield away - their ground had blown down! Robina was happy though, we ended up watching Northwich (not so happy though, they lost)
Macclesfield: ended up at Bolton v Saints I think. Walsall: just stayed in the pub :) Norwich. 'Mr Carrow is in the ground'. Bollocks to you, Mr. Carrow - put a shilling in the meter...There have been more. It's never anything other than a COMPLETE PISSER

Off on a tangent, I think I should have used "farthest" in the thread title as opposed to "furthest"

I've travelled down from North kent a couple of times for this Friday night pre-Xmas fixture only to have it called off.

Once I was sat with Easy10 in our pre-match pub, both blissfully unaware that the game had been called off. yes, the pub was quieter than we expected, but it's difficult to know exactly what to expect on a cold Friday night before Xmas. If it wasn't for a phone call while we sat there, we could well have walked all the way up to the ground before realising.

York City, waterlogged pitch and got called off about 2pm if I recall correctly. Micky Adams was not pleased-nor were we.

Halifax Town and Norwich :(

I went to both of these too. Halifax by car, Norwich by train. The Norwich game we went back to London spent all afternoon in the pubs and ended up getting raped in stringfellows (financially i mean!)
