My left ear was blocked up like a bastard not long ago. So I used some eardrops the other week for a few days, loosened up all the wax, then squirted some warm water in it, and PRESTO, a nice satisfying clump of earhole-shaped wax popped into the sink, and suddenly I could hear again. Everything is so clear and loud now that I feel like a superhero with special hearing powers. Now I know how Peter Parker / Spiderman must have felt when he first started discovering all his fantastically enhanced senses and started putting them to use.
