Saw Purple on their world tour in '72, from which this epic live album was recorded. The picture on the album cover is the exact view I had at The Dome, about 20ft from Ritchie Blackmore and his massive Marshall stack. They opened the concert with this track, my ears were ringing for 24hrs after and it probably contributed to the Tinnitus I've suffered for the last 25 years.
Thankyou Purple, it was worth it!
