1977 and went to work for C Brewers & Sons in Horsham. I was paid £20 a week, which was £18.45 after TAX & NIC. Lovely place, really enjoyed it.

Should have gone to University but ended up being at Midland/HSBC for 22 years so have a decent pension to fall back on.

I never really no what a decent pension is. Peoples expectations are very different. Is £1000 a month a decent pension or is £600 a month a decent pension?

Depends what you want from your Pension, obviously.

I had 22 years at HSBC, ending up at a decent level of management. I'm happy with what they are offering.

Got 6k a year and managed to pay my Dad some keep, go to most home and away games and go to the pub at lunchtimes for people's birthdays, turn out for their football team at weekends and keep myself fed without dying all with zero idea about budgeting.
