When I was there, the permanent staff was entirely female apart from one bloke who was the chef (ie he opened the cans). The temporary and part-time staff were nearly all male - some were fresh out of the local borstal with a couple of schoolkids like me. It was a weird place to work
I remember changing and filling the mustard pots up on the first floor which was never used apart from us staff having our breaks. I did this for so long I was sneezing yellow mucus for days afterwards. I remember too the skinheads coming in prior to getting the train to Hove for the match on Saturdays. Needless to say they didn't pay for the cakes and pastries.
