:lolol:

Do not go to Lancing, the lake is full of algae which is killing all the fish and wildlife and it stinks.

I know, I was there 20 minutes ago.

Brighton Marina. Bit of a concrete jungle, but you can look at the boats for free, there's a good few kid-friendly restaurants and stuff and you can do a boat trip from the Marina to the West Pier and back for about a fiver. The Sea Life Centre is ace - especially the glass shark tunnel you can walk through.

Hmmm, Cuckmere Valley. Lots of wide open spaces. Looks like a PERFECT spot for a stadium to me.

I'd head over to the Eastbourne Airshow. Free and not too far from Lewes so a cheap family day out that is very good by all accounts (haven't been before but am going this year from recommendations)

The miniature railway in Eastbourne is brilliant for kids ... after the ride there are some great slides etc in the play areas, loads of space, you can walk around the lake and have an ice cream and (ahem) there are lots of young mums to ogle from behind your sunglasses. £3.95 for adults, kids 2 and under go free.

Middle Farm in Firle is good fun. As are the rock pools at the western end of Eastbourne beach (check tide tables). You can get crabs there ...

Go & have lunch at The Golden Galleon down at Cuckmere Valley, (drive through Seaford towards Eastbourne, it's at the bottom of the hill on the right of the bridge across the Cuckmere.)

Lovely bit of grub, followed by a stroll along the river to the beach.

(I take girlfriends down there, never fails!)

I imagine it would be a good family day out as well! :lolol:
