What are the chances that the person you know with a particular name is the one who chose the URL if there are lots of people with the same name?
That's not the point, though.
At the moment the only way of directing someone to your own FB page would be to tell them the unique numeric element that is, effectively, the internal FB ID, eg 475847595454. Who is going to remember that?
With the new username feature thingummy, you'll set yourself to something more memorable that will be easier to pass on. It doesn't have to be your name though, and people choose different things...
