Both received limited releases in america in 2007 to make them eligible for the oscars. No Country got a full US release late 2007. There will be blood received a general US release on 11th January 2008.

Both films were released in the UK this year.

no country -- january 18th
there will be blood -- february 15th

Daniel Day Lewis won best actor at the Oscars last year for 'There will be blood' and I think 'No country for Old Men' go the motion picture. Either way, they certainly count as 2007 and not 2008...

Actually, he won the oscar this year. He was eligible due to a rushed showing, it qualified for the oscar ceremony 2008 on a technicality. It was officially given a full nationwide release in america from january 2008

Besides, seeing as this is North Stand Chat, a board dedicated to Brighton and Hove Albion, a UK based football club, what is important is the UK release of these movies. Both 'No Country', and 'Blood' were released in the UK this year.
