Acker, I too loved the Mummy duo - and even the Scorpion King with it's awful animation! Go into Mummy 3 with your eyes open - I think it's biggest downfall was replacing 'take that Bembridge scholars' with another woman - she just didn't gell with Rick at all - and even comments in a totally corny way at the beginning "no, I can definately say I'm not that person at all!" when asked if she was in the first mummy books. :(

GG, I totally agree, new Indy is far better than Indy 2 (although some people love the darkness of Indy 2, personally I dont) but it's not a patch on 1 & 3, I think because they tried too hard to introduce new young male lead, when he wasn't really very likeable. Harrison was absolutely as great as always, but having Marion back was tamed by her interaction with young male lead - I never believed they were a family unit. The ending after the aliens seemed a bit of an afterthought but loved the wind blowing the hat! Also liked the tributes to his late great friend, but think maybe one tribute would have been enough, rather than three (dialogue, statue beheaded and photo's and paintings). I've gotta love the film ultimately because, hell, it's Indy isn't it, and he's one of my top film characters of all time? But I was disappointed that it was capable of being a lot lot more and left me kinda "huh".... ok then.

I think Indy 4 will do well over time and be regarded with a lot more affection than now when people have calmed down and realsied what the Indy films are meant to be all about. And Indy 4 is what they are meant to be about imo. My order is

1. The last crusade
2. Raiders
3. Crystal Skull
4. Temple of Doom

You prefer Last Crusade to Raiders? It's a close call I reckon!
I love Sean.... but the Marion/Indy thing?.....the nazi subplot was spot on.....but the monkey ate the poisoned date?.....

I'd probably make Raiders a 10 and LC a 9.... maybe 9.5...

The wonderful chemistry between Ford and Connery clinched it for the Last Crusade. If Connery had agreed to do IJ 4 it would have been better.

i don't mean to be shallow and pedantic but i think you'll find that they were both released in the uk in 2008. and far, far, far better than all the films listed in this poll. so there.
:p

Ah, but they were made in 2007 so there

Anyway the greatest film of ALL TIME is being made now for release in 2009.

Transformers 2 - Revenge of the fallen

Did they HAVE to make a big thing out of him being 'dead'? Fair enough, Denholm is really gone to see the luvvies in the sky, and probably having a whale of a time, but it fair tugged my heart strings to think of lovely Sean having left us!

If you were a girl, the chemistry between Ford/Allen would have clinched it = the part where he says where it hurts!! and "I'm your goddam partner!!!" I wish they'd made more use of her in 4, her part seemed so stunted.

There's only one viable option and that's the one at the top of the list.

Judging by the turgid, tower of shite that was the 1st Transformers Film I very much doubt it. And if it features that child shia le bouf then it will put it in the running for just about the worst film of all time.

I agree Nibble I thought it was excellent. In my opinion even better than Casino Royale so I am dumbfounded as to the negative reviews.

No. But it was the best of a poor list this year.

T4 will clean up next year :)

Do You Ever Shut Your Shite Up Nipple? Gavin Is Spot On As Usual With His Assessment Of This Film. It's A Superb Film. You Must Remember It Is Aimed At 12-15 Year Old Boys And Their Parents Who Are Craving A Bit Of Movie Action Harking Back To Their Childhood Times. And It Is A Good Movie, With A Decent Plot And Some Amazing Special Effects.

It Is Not Aimed At 30 Something Bitter Mrs Mops Who Do A Tiny Bit Of "Acting" When The Agency Can't Find The Bloke Out Of Bucks Fizz To Advertise Their Toilet Duck And Who Get Angry At Any Of The 75% Of People Clearly Doing Much More With Their Lives.

Get A Grip, Nipple, Let It Go, And Enjoy The Movies For What They Are. It's Probably The Secret To Gavin's Success.

It is blindingly obvious that US and Bars Mars are the same poster. I actually find it quite cowardly of you Gareth that you feel the need to insult people anonymously and that you feel it is acceptable to do so.

The only time Bars MArs appears here is after US threads or when US is posting. when US disappeared for a few months MB was nowhere to be seen.

Ah, but they were made in 2007 so there

Further...

Filming dates:
Dark Knight 18 April 2007 - 11 November 2007
IJ4 18 June 2007 - 11 October 2007
Kung Fu Panda started filming in September 2005
Iron Man 12 March 2007 - 25 June 2007
Narnia PC 12 February 2007 - 8 September 2007
Sex & the City 19 September 2007 - 22 January 2008
The Mummy 3 Started July 2007
Madagascar 2 started June 2006
Wanted 30 April 2007 - 20 July 2007
10,000BC started in April 2006
The Incredible Hulk 18 June 2007 - 26 October 2007
Get Smart 21 March 2007 - 25 June 2007

All have to come out of the poll, because they were made last year.

Can't find filming dates for:

Mamma Mia
Wall E (though given the time it takes to make animation (see Kung Fu panda) I imagine it started filming long before 2007)
Horton (ditto)
What Happens in Vegas
Zohan

Filming dates entirely in 2008
Quantum of Solace (Though second unit started in 2007)
High School musical 3

I don't think there's much point in a poll asking people here if they preferred James Bond to Zac Efron, is there?

I am afraid not Nibble. I do not have the wit and intelligence of Bars Mar but I am not stupid enough to not think its actually a piss take out of me but I am in on the joke as its quite amusing.
