I got 18 hours sleep the other day. I was ill though. Serious case of man flu that bruised my ribs. Usually I get off to bed around 2/3

Six hours max. Usually wake several times in the night. Have never slept that well and the slightest noise wakes me.

Tried ear plugs? Doing the occasional night shift I got into ear plugs and eyeblinds to enable me to sleep in the day and I now wear them whenever I'm hitting the sack, whether day or night, although, like you, I still wake up several times during the night, probably due to the Mrs shifting around in bed and waking me up.

Same here, and often even later. I'm often the only person on NSC in the middle of the night.

There are normally at least couple of hundred people viewing this forum through the night at any one time (If you look at the front NSC screen).

Going online if you can't sleep isn't the best thing to be doing because it 'stimulates' you, whereas doing something like reading a book helps you 'shut down' and hopefully get back to sleep.

Very much this! 3a.m. thru no choice of my own. Granted I don't have to be up till about 10 many days and those where it is about 7.30 I manage fine.

Best ways to get off
1) Hot, spicy food
2) Sex
3) Hot bath

Put all 3 together though if possible

No wonder I have trouble sleeping. My girlfriend can't cook, she's shit in bed and is usually locked in the bathroom sobbibg furiously when I want a bath.

Since christmas I've really been struggling to get back into my normal sleeping pattern. I used to hit the sack around 11pm and literally went to sleep as soon as I got into bed. These days it's gone 12 and end up tossing and turning for ages until i drop off. It was gone 1am around christmas time when I had a couple of weeks off! So I'm halfway there thankfully! No idea whats keeping me awake I just seem to toss and turn for ages trying to nod off. Weird thing is I still get up at the same time as before.. Maybe it's stress I dunno.

So what time do YOU go to bed on a school night? Does anyone actually get the recommended 8 hours sleep a night?

I go to bed at 9:30, but watch TV in bed for an hour, but then I am up every day at 04:45

I generally go to bed between 9-10 pm and get up between 2-3am. My wife's disabled so I have to stay awake for as long as possible to attend to her. I still get 4-5 hours sleep on average, but I'm a grumpy bugger because I need more!

Similar to me, except I got to bed about 11 then up at about 3/3.30 then back to bed until about 7.30, 3 1/2 years and I'm just about getting used to it :)

I usually go to bed at about 10.30. As for actually getting to sleep, it can be any time between 11 and 3, sleeping isn't something I'm very good at

Weekday night usually sees me in bed by 10 at the latest, give the missis a seeing to and then asleep by 10-30. Nice and fresh to get up at 6-30 the next day.

Struggled when I got back from Blackburn last night though and ended up on NSC until almost 1am.

I definitely have a 4 hour sleep cycle, if i cannot get straight off after first waking, thats it for me. Wife snoring, work stress being too hot etc doesn't help. Tried ear plugs etc but just doesn't feel right. My Nook is getting used every middle of the night at the mom. Hate it and always feel knackered.
