Same here and I usually wake just before my alarm goes off at 5.45. Even if I go to bed any earlier I just wake up earlier.

Very much this! 3a.m. thru no choice of my own. Granted I don't have to be up till about 10 many days and those where it is about 7.30 I manage fine.
Best ways to get off
1) Hot, spicy food
2) Sex
3) Hot bath
Put all 3 together though if possible

I'm very bad for early nights. I don't seem to sleep before 2am... And on a wed night \ thur night I go to bed at 5 am after poker night. They are all unemployed and I have to get up for work at 8... But I love to maximise my evenings.
Getting an iPhone and virgin media in my room serious hasn't helped.

I have a silly shift pattern, so it varies. I have massive trouble sleeping on Tuesdays though, due to finishing at 11pm then having to be up at 5am Wednesday. Which is where I'm at now. I try and get to sleep about 1ish, but I rarely happens.
Any other day I go to sleep when I want, sleeeeep when I waaaaant.

Golly, that's early. HovaBoy loves and needs his sleep but he goes to bed at 11.15, sleeps straight away and gets up at 6.30.

Sounds like you actually go to bed too early. If I went to bed at a normal time of, say, midnight, I'd be up at 5am.
