Almost a great plan, but for 1 small flaw:-

IT'S STILL FOOKIN EXPENSIVE, HERE!.

Good Point well made.

Alternatives:

1. Dont go on Holiday. invest in some hardcore and stop indoors
2. Sell the house and live in the shed
3. Go on Belgian X factor and get big in Brussels, insist on being paid in Euros
4. Kill yourself.

Anyone got a Ski trip to Europe booked? Have you considered a 2nd mortgage to help with the costs?

I don't think you'll find many banks willing to offer you a second mortgage (or a first one for that matter), unless you have a huge deposit, pay enormous admin fees and several points over the base rate...

but don't worry... Gordon's got it all under control...

perhaps he could use our gold reserves to bolster the economy... oh wait... sorry, he sold them at the bottom of the market when we were in the middle of an economic boom...

Ski-trips were always a way of parting the dumb rich from their money anyways. Who the f*** wants to escape the British winter by escaping to some shitty snotty overpriced colder place anyways?

The smart money follows the sun, goes to Barbados, Oz, Goa, Canaries etc etc

The posh bit
maybe he could increase the national debt even more. sy perhaps 20,000 per head instead of the 17,500 perhead as he plans.

Meopham, Kent.
It's directly related to the lower interest rates in UK as opposed to the Euro-zone.

Personally, I'm happy with the lower mortgage payments thanks. A flip side of higher cost of foreign currency doesn't really affect me.

Good work Gordon.

I'm Fu*ked. I get paid in pounds in the UK - live in Denmark where I pay 50% income tax on my converted pounds and have to pay national insurance in the UK where it is 3% higher than Danish national insurance. Monthly pay packet has now fallen 25% in a year! In return my Danish house is now worth lots more £££ (except the house prices have also plummeted here, bollocks.)

As a tenant who likes to go away now and again, I'm definitely more

Winners and losers innit. :)

Perhaps it's also down to international investors thinking our country is f***ed.

If it was just down to interest rates, why has the pound fallen so far against the dollar? If the assumption is that the US economy is an a bad way, due to debt, credit-crunch etc, then Sterling should have got stronger here as their rates are now virtually 0%.

Simple fact is, Labour has done what it always does. It spends the lecacy of PRUDENCE from the previous Conservtive administrations, and once this goes, get's nto huge levels of debt before getting kicked inot the political wilderness.

Even when trying to adopt right-of-center policies, 'New' Labour still screw things up.

But, if you still say 'Well Done Gordon', I wonder what he would have to do to the country for you to say that he has to go?????
