I was watching a programme on Sky the other night about Zico, who was one of my boyhood heroes, I thought he was BRILLIANT.

I think he did play at Wembley once in a friendly for Brazil, I didn't get to the game, but I so wish I did. It must have been about 1981, so I was only 10 at the time, and would have seriously had to nag my dad or brother to take me, but what a chance missed.

Zamora in a Brighton shirt. Saw my first match the season after he left, although I did see him play against us for West Ham at Withdean.

He'll be back one day, I hope!

I had the pleasure of seeing Gazza in an England 'B' international at the Goldstone once, but i would have loved to have seen Diego Maradonna live at his peak

I went to that game, Brazil won 1 - 0. Zico was outstanding and if I remember scored. Great night.

Sent from - not telling as it upsets some people!

Was that the game where Eder hit an outrageous curler that smacked against the crossbar? What a team that was.

Pele, Maradona, Bobby Moore, Zidane, Beckham (v greece 2001, wow), Cantona, Henry, Fat Ronaldo, Gazza, Cruyff, Rivaldo, Roy Keane, Dennis Bergkamp, Figo, Maldini, Cole+Yorke partnership. There's so many greats out there, would want to watch them all for different reasons.

Present footballers- Messi, C.Ronaldo, Xavi would be my top 3.

For me it would have to have been Johann Cruyff, who finished his career before I started watching football, what he could do with the ball was quite magical...though the whole Dutch team were pretty good back then.

George Best to see why everyone used to rave about him
Would loved to have seen Maradona play for either Napoli or Argentina at his peak
On a more local front Peter Ward (only seen a sprinkling of footage of him)
Matt Le Tissier was a favourite player of mine and wanted to see him play before he retired (saw him play for Southampton in a league cup game away at Fulham and he was bloody sub although he did come on for the last 10 minutes but hardly touched the ball)

Ronaldo - the 'fat' one as he is better known nowadays. IMHO he's the best player of my generation.

I would have paid serious dough to have been at Selhurst Park to see King Eric perform his kung fu kick (and also to see some of his silky skills)

Just for starters i would love to have seen

Pele
George Best
Jimmy Greaves
Bobby Charlton
Bobby Moore
Johan Cruyff
Franz Beckenbaur

Saw Bobby Charlton playing for Preston vs the Albion at the Goldstone in the early 70's - felt very sad throughout, well past his peak.

Watched Best playing with Rodney Marsh for Fulham vs Palace at Selhurst Park. Bit of a stroll for Fulham but GB was involved in a tackle with Ian Evans where the latter came out with a broken leg.

I'd like to have seen Jimmy Langley playing for the Albion.

My dad used to take me to Chelsea when I was a kid and we were fortunate enough to see THE great Man Utd team - Best, Charlton, Law, Crerand et al. It was a great thrill as in those days you got so little football on the tv - the MOTD highlights on a Saturday night (and ITV on Sundays ????) being it. The Chelsea team was pretty fair too - Tambling, Harris, Hutchinson, Bonnetti etc
George Best was just as good as they say - flair player
