Worry not. You are not alone. I agree entirely. I actually don't like wearing trainers for things other than what they are meant for.. They always make my feet too hot.

I'm in corporate hospitality tomorrow, rather than my normal place in the SW corner. T-shirt and shorts, I think..... Except for the dress code. Might not need the thermals, though.
One for the ladiesI once put on trainers that Phil Knight (owner of Nike) was said to have worn in Eugene, Oregon at the Uni of Oregon. I can not testify, though, that I ever saw Phil Knight slip his feet into those trainers.
Never got the Converse obsession, very uncomfortable shoes worn by trendy vicars.
A good pair of Nike high tops or Magnum dust boots for me.
