The scenery at Goodwood is absolutely beautiful on a summer's day. It's a shame that the course is difficult to reach though and the buses or cabs aren't cheap but it really is a special place once you get there. I enjoy Brighton racecourse as well but never been to Fontwell or Plumpton surprisingly.

Other ones I've gone to are Chepstow, Haydock, Doncaster and Epsom.

Way out west
Parham point-to-point...if that can be counted as a race course.

Was at Plumpton today funnily enough... Goodwood has to be the best in Sussex though!

Goodwood is a great showcase for all that is best in horse racing and Sussex. It's a text book example of how to successfully modernise a course without taking away the things which made it popular - unlike Ascot and Newmarket IMHO.

Plumpton for being the only one to retain some of it's character and that doesn't try to rip people off.

Brighton is a hole with appalling viewing, Goodwood is too full of people who want to be seen there or who are out on corporate pissups and Fontwell (my old favourite) is now charging too much for crap racing and built a stand that meets their non-raceday needs butdoesn't properly face the racecourse.

It's hardly a fair competition with Goodwood in the running, as said it's a World beater

But Fontwell deserves a mention, not only for it's access but the view of the whole course, is pretty top notch, wherever you stand.
