Not seen that one. Which actor starred in it, sounds like a Roger Moore era one perhaps?

Its good to see the franchise is still alive and well. There wasn't as much competition in the 60's and 70's as there is in recent years from other action films IMO
Arnie Schwarzenegger, Stallone and the Bourne films looked like making Bond history at one stage.

I also read somewhere that they realised they had to change direction slightly when the Austin Powers films came out and they were caught a bit between Powers and Bourne. They did well to move away from the 'cheese' aspect without completely ending up as a 'British Bourne'.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I know George Lazenby got a lot of flack as 007 but Dianna Rigg was the best Bond girl ever; smart, stylish, confident and very beautiful.

It was probably about a half an hour too long but Telly Savalas was the best Blofeld (a snob who seemed more concerned about his title than world domination) and Piz Gloria a great location as the villains lair.

Also the story was believable to a degree rather than some of the totally overblown plot lines of other Bond movies. Bond also came across as more human than a lot of his other iterations.

It’s a brilliant plot. Bond was badly cast but it’s a great film. Best score too.

I dunno, as I recall it featured an arrogant psychopathic misogynist who has a series of abusive sexual relationships in between engaging in highly unfeasible car/boat chases whilst dodging plotholes large enough to sink a double decker bus.

So pretty much the same as all the others.

Love nearly all of 'em, but a special mention for A View To a Kill as I've always had a thing for Fiona Fullerton.

I remember sitting in Odeon 2 when The Spy Who Loved Me was released and experiencing a British cinema audience applauding the opening parachute over the cliff scene. I had never heard clapping and cheering in a cinema before and for that reason The Spy Who Loved Me has always been my favourite Bond film.
Then Daniel Craig came along. It is very difficult not hail him as the best Bond and Casino Royale as the best Bond film, but I still love the classic era and TSWLM will always be up there.
Best Bond soundtrack by a mile for me is On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and listen to the version by The Hellacopters on the David Arnold complication. Brilliant version with excerpts on incidental music from You Only Live Twice......another fave

Oh God Propellers, Hellacopters and other badly spelt aviation themed bands . You are absolutely correctand I should have checked it after all these years. Still a great version though

Can’t help but love You Only Live Twice- it’s just so iconic, the volcano lair, Blofield and his white cat, Nancy Sinatra’s voice over a casual, sauntering guitar rhythm…

Also think Goldeneye was great, though the Brosnan films lost the plot after it (especially the dreadful die another day). Skyfall is also pretty good, especially with that whole final showdown segment in the Scottish highlands. I used to hate the Moore films for being too campy and silly but I can’t help but enjoy how utterly bonkers Moonraker and Octopussy are (Double taking pigeons and Bond swinging on jungle vines doing a Tarzan yell, anyone?).

Always liked the fact that although it was probably backed with American money it really was a British affair - most of the cast, the technicians and Pinewood studios (at least for all the early Bonds)

I think for a long time the UK had a much deserved reputation in Hollywood for its back of house movie production facilities and technical staff

Loads of love for Skyfall. I couldn't stand it. Spectre passable, quite liked DC's first 2.

8 years old, went with my sister to watch it at the Top Rank.
Have vague memories of the film before it being a Benny Hill film
