Killing someone’s fiancée, them finding out, and still getting them in bed for the final scene took all of Moore’s charm and reasoning skills. It’s a classic piece of dialogue when he explains to XXX why he had to kill her lover, he explains the situation so well. Peak Roger.

Alan: "Something's come up"
Michael: "Aye, he means his cock"

Live and Let Die - favourite film

Sean Connery - favourite Bond

Sky fall - one of the worst Bond films - for me it is a remake of Home Alone but with people being killed

Mine has to be You Only Live Twice

Iconic theme tune and opening credits,

Donald Pleasence as the ultimate baddy with a scar, a monocle and stroking his white pussy!

Sean Connery in a Japanese disguise, as convincing as Peter Sellers with a lampshade on his head in The Revenge Of The Pink Panther.
:lolol:
All good escapist fun though.

I got my opening action sequences mixed up originally, It was Goldfinger where James Bond was in a wet suit, and he had a Seagull on his head, not a rubber duck!
And if you didn't see my pre edit post you won't have a clue what I'm talking about.

From Russia with Love. Robert Shaw is excellent and the scene with him and Bond fighting on the train is brutal. Gypsy scenes and Istanbul as a backdrop is also superb.

LALD had some great hammy lines "Hey man, for twenty bucks I'll take you to a Ku Klux Klan cookout!"
Craig's Casino Royale was an ace action flick and Vesper Lynd drool!

The new Bond film looks pretty bad from the trailers imho, Fast and Furious meets Johnny English (or similar) .

I agree with Die Another Day and Quantum of Solace. I actually like Tomorrow Never Dies though. Maybe because it was the first one I saw at the cinema.

I'd have to put Licence to Kill as the third worst. It's not a particularly bad film but it just doesn't feel like a Bond film. It's far too violent and doesn't have a fun element to it.

Boring By Sea
Interesting fact- No Time To Die is a whole hour longer than Quantum Of Solace.

I need my Bond tongue in cheek, it’s such an absurd premise that I struggle to relate to the Craig films, they are too serious.

So Moore is the man for me and I have to choose one of his flicks.

Live And Let Die is epic and ticks all my boxes.

Most beautiful Bond girl - Jane Seymour
Best theme song - Wings
Best baddie - Dr. Kananga / Mr. Big
Best allie - Sheriff J.W. Pepper
Best car chase - London double decker bus in the Caribbean!

In addition, the locations were brilliant (loved the menacing atmosphere in New Orleans).

Yes, it’s Live and Let Die for me too - the ultimate blend of cheese and thrills

Its good to see the franchise is still alive and well. There wasn't as much competition in the 60's and 70's as there is in recent years from other action films IMO
Arnie Schwarzenegger, Stallone and the Bourne films looked like making Bond history at one stage.

Favourite theme songs:

A-Ha - The Living Daylights
Adele - Skyfall
Gladys Knight - Licence to Kill
Paul McCartney & Wings - Live & Let Die

I would add
Carly Simon - Nobody does it better
Sheena Easton - For your eyes only
Duran Duran - A view to a kill
That Madonna song - Die another day was pretty terrible though:)

Still in Brighton
- Casino Royale is by far my favourite Bond..... but only up until the ball-whacking torture scene and then it nose dives (the silly collapsing building ending is dire). It has the best theme song and opening credit sequence imo (not the best soundtrack though, John Barry rules) and the very sexy Eva Green. I have the uncut version but not watched it yet although i think it is only a few seconds of the torture scene that were originally cut to get the 15 rating.

- Favourite childhood memories are of the Roger Moore films, particularly those with the ski chases, speed boat chases, Jamaica and Jaws. Moore had the best stunts imo. Sadly, the cable car scenes i find a hard watch now after the several cable car accidents in Europe due to idiot US airpilots and recent criminal behaviour re turning off emergency breaks. Sorry, going off topic.

- Never really a fan of Connery, except for the tremendous soundtracks of the genius John Barry in those films. Feel so lucky to have seen him conduct his music in the Royal Albert Hall.

- OHMSS is brilliant and such a shame Lazenby only got one film as he was the perfect Bond. I do struggle with the "speeded up" car chases and stunts in this one particularly though.

- If I turn on the tele and Skyfall is on I can never resist it.

- However, Daniel Craig looked ancient in Spectre and is danger of being ridiculed like Moore was towards the end. I hope he carries off this new one but I think Skyfall should have been his last.
