that one with madonna set in the 50's or 60's (where she changed her voice and dressed up like a man and eventually got squashed in a cog in a machine) and the wrinkly guy in the yellow coat who was the detective... I fell asleep in the theatre...

was a big hungover though...

Dick Tracey??

Doesn't anyone look out for Ken Loach films anymore? Kes, Raining Stones - His are British films of the highest standards yet we're always bemoaning the lack of quality

I buy DVDs because of the extras u get on them, commentaries, deleted scenes, documentarys, outakes, all interesting stuff if done properly.

Starship Troopers and Human Traffic dont deserve to be on the list in my opinion.

Started watching the first 10 mins of Clueless once (not sure why) but turned it off because it was dire, also tried watching Moulin Rouge, (again dont know why) but lasted 3 minutes, f***ing rubbish, when they all start singing Nirvana I almost died with embarassment :shootself

No, YOU don't watch them more than once.

Why do so many people think they speak for everyone?

Because it'd be pretty bloody tedious if we all had to write IMHO after everything we posted. In my humble opinion, like. :p

Sorry but all three Lord of the Rings films are poor in the cinema, yes the backgrounds and battle scenes are good on the big screeen, but sooo much has been missed out - not until a year later that they have been added to the DVD did they redeem themselves to great films - shame !

Worst of all time - High Fidelity - great book set in a tacky london music store - tranformed into an american piece of crap, lasted 5 minutes and walked out!!!

Can some one please tell me what is so anti English about Braveheart!

You just made me cough out my mouth full of Galaxy. Bugger.

That's an absurd statement. They had no choice but to miss a lot out. How long would they be otherwise? They would have been slated if they'd made people sit in the cinema for almost 4 hours for each film.

I can't believe LOTR has been mentioned on a Worst Film Ever thread.

Starship Troopers.

A very, very thick director trying, I think, to make a clever film. About as subtle as a brick, and about as intelligent as a brick, too. Utter shite.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy, I agree, ain't near to being the worst films ever, but come on, they are pretty ordinary - all style, and no substance whatsoever.

A film called Equilibrium - if anyone out there has seen this, please join in me in condemning this as one of the worst films ever, ever made.

Equilibrium ... is it the time travel one, if so ... utter ,utter bolloxs. Any of the Police accademy sequels (the original was tolerable), and higlander sequels. Battlestar gallactica aaagghhhhhh

As for U597 (whatever). True story as follows .. British destroyer depth charges U boat. Skipper of u-boat surfaces and surrenders. U-Boat searched, enigma machine and (more importantly) the codes found.
Number of shots fired (other than depth charges) - zero,
wounded - zero
Killed - zero,
annoyed - two.

Equilibrium - not so much time travel as 1984/Brave new World/Matrix rip off of the very worst type. Sean Bean was it it much to his shame - he did get shot in the face in the first ten minutes though, so all credit to him for getting out early.

I only made it 45 minutes through it was so cringeably (spelling?) derivative of every distopian thought ever had by anyone ever.

OK, maybe LOTR shouldn't be mentioned in the worst film category, just full of holes and made things look so convenient!

withdraw my statement from this thread and put somewhere else like, annoying things in films thread!

Dune, with Sting and lots of sand. Truly terrible. I also hate Beaches and Terms of Endearment, as they are over-sentimentalised mush over serious issues.

How anyone can diss Police Academy 7 is beyond me. What's wrong with Tackleberry using the same gags for seven films?

MullHolland Drive was abysmal, so far up its own arse. But it did have a cracking lesbian scene in it.
Striptease - walked out
The old star wars films are pants. People only ever justify the film to me by saying it was revolutionary for its time. Who cares, I didn't watch it then, I watched them a couple of years ago and they were bollocks.

I appreciate your support at this delicate time Tom, but fear Juan has got confused by my original comment. To clarify Juan - I wasn't talking about your DVD/Video porn collection, but feature films you may own :p
