What is the smallest club to play in the Premier League?

Wimbledon, Oldham, Swindon or soon to be Bournemouth?

yeah, that's a tricky one,I first thought Wimbledon remembering them as a non league club, but they did win the FA Cup in the late 80's and have played in the top flight more than the others in recent times

the smallest club to win the PL is undoubtly Blackburn Rovers, infact they're the only club to win it coming from outside London or Manchester

I wonder how many of the under 30's actually remember it?

We thought they'd never end
We won the league three times in a row
We won the FA cup
And now we're going up
We are the town

Luton? Shitty tin pot club

Of about the same size as us and with a pretty similar record to us over the years. In fact they've actually WON a major trophy.

We were southern champions at one stage. Arguably in the top 2 best teams in the country.

It could be argued we were the best of those top two when we beat Villa in the Charity Shield. In those days the Champs of the Football League played the Champs of the Southern League, so it was a sort of unofficial play-off to decide the best team in England. I know this sounds pretty irrelevant 105 years on, but I'm still proud of this moment in our history.

Depends as always what 'biggest' means.

The answer is one thing if it means successes won in ancient times, and another thing if it means current operating and infrastructure size.

The shield is actually in the national football museum in Manchester where you'll see Brighton and Hove Albion proudly engraved into it.

A big piece of our history we shouldn't forget or write off.

Bristol City. Big fan base.

If you discount the existence of Bristol Rovers then you may have a point.

City do not dominate Bristol support-wise like Forest do Nottingham. I don't think it's a big club/small club place at all - much more equal between City and Rovers.

Huddersfield and Preston and at a push, Notts County, who only just missed out, getting relegated the season after beating us in the Play Off Final at Wembley (which would almost certainly have been the case had we beaten them). Also, aren't they the oldest Football League club? I know they've never reached the level Forest have (though you could argue Forest aren't even a Nottingham club; the City Ground is in the Borough of Rushcliffe, formerly West Bridgford), but I can remember them being seen as a pretty big club.
