Gods country fortnightly
Huddersfield

Three times league champions, three times runners-up, FA Cup winner

Have been in top two division for most of their history

I know Preston has a better record, but that's way back - and have spent most of their recent history at the lower ends of the league

No brainer for me

Hudds were massive but these days both Albion and Bristol City are bigger club IMO. Main desire to get in PL is to get Tone some cash back, little else..

Why are people claiming Bristol city Fc are bigger than the Albion?

The only thing in their history which stands out is Bristol City becoming the first English club to suffer three consecutive relegations.

They've only spent 4 season in the top flight. At least when the Albion were in the top flight, they managed to achieve an historic cup final. Bristol achieved their cup final back in 1910ish when the formation of the leagues were different. The Albion's history is clearly better.

This suggests otherwise: http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/all-time-table

I think fairly recent history can be considered

Leeds United for example probably just still clinging on to being a "big" club by their finger nails

Huddersfield's ship sailed a long,long time ago

I'd vote for PNE anyway because I once saw Sir Bobby Charlton play for them

The most ridiculous football table i've ever seen.

Why are Grimsby and Port Vale rated higher than Spurs?
It did look a bit dodgy to me too - though I admit I didn't look at the Port Vale and Grimsby placings! I have seen another table somewhere, which had us somewhere about 48th or 49th I think, which looked about right. Couldn't find it by googling though. Whichever one you found would still have Bristol City above us, though, due to the amount of time they've spent playing in a higher division than us.

Bristol has two clubs and will be interested to see how many city get at home once the stadium is ready.
They won't compete with us though as only so many clubs in tge whole country can pull in 28k's etc while struggling in the championship.

Historically it's hudders and Preston, but both have shrunk massively In recent years :)

Looking at it again, it seems to be based on points scored, regardless of which division the points were scored in. The one I was looking for was based on league positions over the years.

Certainly not us, we've barely troubled the historians when it comes to our past in the top 2 tiers of English football.

Given time, we may turn into the club some of our fans think we already are, but the ground doesn't make us a massive club, be patient.
