I like a basic cream of tomato or cream of mushroom by Heinz. I find it's always best to add a little seasoning.

I ruddy love a good soup, keep it simple Cream of Tomato.

I think this needs a poll....

The M&S range of soup is tasty and already seems to come well seasoned.

I'd avoid the potato and leek though as that is rancid.

Not had it for a while, but last winter I had a lot of this (I think this is an updated design of the packaging)

Heated in a saucepan (is it just me, or do things taste different if heated in a microwave?), with plenty of black pepper added.

What annoys me about a lot of tinned soups is that they are laced with ridiculous amounts of SALT

This - making your own is so easy to do, don't see why you would bother with tinned, carton etc.

Because sometimes you only have 5 mins to prepare lunch?

I make soup often and yes, it's a piece of p|ss, but a tin of soup in the cupboard is a dead handy option when pressed for time...

My comment is that no tinned soup is as superior as making it from scratch. Chop up some veg, throw into a pan of stock or chopped tomatoes, boil and simmer, blend or leave to stand. Serve.

open a tin. put in pan. heat it up. volley.

Have none of you non-continentals heard of Minestrone, the crown prince of all pick'n'mix soups? Meade longs for weeks when such a flavoured bitty syrup is on special offer whether tinned or plastic-containered.
