not a 'stadium' in the modern sense, but still the best arena I've ever watched Brighton and Hove Albion FC perform and win.

for what little its worth you can stick your stadiums up your arse, 10-30 000 people on terraces, standing, singing, and supporting with heartfelt passion was more than enough to tattoo the experience on me for life.

Unfortunately I doubt we'll ever see that kind of football again, and thats a travesty for me.

having been to a few 'fancy pants' new stadia which are open, or partially covered, I think its safe to say audible atmosphere is as bad or worse than at Withdean, its easier to drum up a partisan noise at Middle road Shoreham

Camp Nou by a long shot, although I haven't actually seen a game there yet, only done the tour.

Have seen Barcelona vs Real <Sociedad..> there, and sad to say it's not a great atmosphere even when Barca scored.. :(

Despite other comments against Millennium, i WAS totally over whelmed when walking out from the passageways into the bright sunshine that beautiful day

For Internationals, Munich was good, frankfurt smaller but better somehow, Moscow recently was pretty intimidating but stadium dated. Wmbley is great. Loved the Millenium Stadium (cos we won probably).

Of the new club grounds I think Leicester's has a nice feel to it. Quite liked White Hart Lane, and Southampton's is pretty good too.

Overall though if someone said you can only watch one more football match in your life I would get in my tardis and go back to the Goldstone Ground one last time. Just fab, really fab.

I'm off to Ajax stadium at the nd of the month. I'm dead excited about that.

Thought it was pretty cool, escalators everywhere instead of stairs. I went to the England v Holland friendly, dull game but the stadium was good in hindsight.

Millennium was nice, although not especially breathtaking. Looking forward to hitting here next week:

Saitama 2002. Very much in the Porto mold, although manages to have 11000 more seats.

I can't get over how many people have said the new Wembely!!

Have you people been there? It's a lifeless, soulless pile of bricks which a ruddy great light on it.

Best ground in this country - probably St James Park. Out of the new grounds, then I'd say either Stoke or Arsenal....or maybe Huddersfield for not adhering to the just add water bowl type grounds that are springing up left right a centre.

Best abroad I've been to either Beurnabau (sp) or the one UB tipped up (Sapporo Dome). The two in Lisbon are ok too. Worst abroad has to be that tin shed in Charlerio, I seriously thought it was going to fall down!

Ceertainly not the best stadium in the world, but still my favourite stadium in foreign parts.

The International Stadium, Banjul, The Gambia.

I have been to the Maracana, but it was empty, have to say the most impressive from a fans point of view (for baseball) was this one:

skydome is fantastic - bloody hot when the roof is shut though

nothing better than a warm night, watching the cn tower lit up as the yankees are DESTROYED by another home run from frank thomas
