Maybe i'm a monster, but i NEVER slice a HCB in half, straight out the packet into my gaping cavern. Mmmmmmm
Best answer so far. How many of a packet of 4 usually get demolished in the first wave...?

HCB on my list of items that will not last a day in the house.

Can’t stand dried fruit, so sitting this one out.

That said, I had a cheese one from M&S over the weekend with bacon in it. Game changer.

If you burn me I’ll just use it to cook more bacon. I won’t be stopped.

What is this 'halves' nonsense?

Pick the thing up, dunk it in your coffee and eat.

Not a half in sight.

To merge two threads I'm on at the moment, I suspected my mum's dementia was progressing when she made lunch for herself and it was a HCB cut in half with a custard cream inside it. Another of her concoctions was HCB with smoked mackerel and strawberry yoghurt.

What doesn't kill you etc....

If you'd dunked in tea I could have embraced the idea but I can't have a hcb going near coffee.
Dunking panettone in coffee is fine though.
No it doesn't make sense.

Bottom, clearly.

My husband prefers the tops for some weird reason, so it all works out.

The doughy bottom or the glazed/crossed top?

There's clearly a difference and I now feel quite stupid for not thinking about it before

Bottom, lightly toasted, with shed loads of butter. In my quest to get the bottom toasted to perfection in the toaster, the top half sometimes gets burnt and I have been known to bin the top half if the burning is excessive.
