Hawkins on Saturday?

Thomas at Brentford?

The one where Mark Walton smashed it in off the back of someone's HEAD?

For me it was TERRY CONNOR's diving header, in front of the Goldstone South Stand. I think the game was a 3-1 defeat to Norwich.

Special mention to Dean Cox's 45-yard wonder strike at home this year, which was CRUELLY ruled out as the ball had gone out of play!

Should have included Chapman's on my list.

And for importance, MAYO's at Hereford, of course.

Ian Chapman v Leeds....Goldstone, last game of season circa 1989/90

For pure unexpected horror this would get it for me.

Time to take a touch and clear, looked easy, but the touch was not good!!

Steve Gatting lobbing John Keely at West Ham when we were winning 1-0 and cruising. Ended up losing 2-1 with Julian Dicks scoring the winner.

I remember that game. As I recall though Keeley made a wonder save to stop Gattings lob from crosssing the line only for a West Ham player to tuck it in anyway. So not sure it was technically an own goal, but as good as!!

That reminds of the Leeds game at Withdean, when we were all over them, then El Abd chipped Kuipers, which somehow he saved, but someone nipped in the loose ball, and the game was over

As for OGs, it has to be Mayos at Hereford, top corner, BOOOSH

Years and years ago I went to a reserves game - it was cheap to get into the West Stand,so that's where I went (though of course it was always the North Stand for the first team). Our goalie, and I think it was Charlie Baker, picked up a back pass as then allowed and threw it to the full back up near the halfway line. The full back kicked it back to him,but Charlie was jogging back to his line, and the ball gently rolled past him into the net.It was a hoot, and I believe we still won.

I seem to recall Mayo scoring a great own goal away at Sheffield United a few years back. It came at the end of a series of poor passes while United couldn't get near the ball which started out on our right wing and ended with Mayo mis-hitting a great volley giving Kuipers no chance.

No doubt it wasn't quite as I recall it, but I remember being dumb-struck at the time!

It was a diving header, it was Terry Connor and it was against Norwich; but it was Carrow Road and it was 0-3. :(

I'm not going to FALL OUT with you SIM, but the one I'm thinking of, WAS at the Goldstone, unless I'm going MAD. Ball came in from the left, possibly from a corner, full length diving header, into the bottom left hand corner.
