Whatever - storming the Capitol seemed very reminiscent of the Reichstag fire to me; I could probably add a reference to brownshirts in respect of the brave boys, or whatever they're called.
Do Trump's tactics remind me of anyone? Yes, they do.
Is this another Desperate fishing thread? I can't bring myself to investigate. Twice bitten, etc.
The Great Reset that is being promoted by nutjobs is nothing like the actual goals of the World Economic Forum.
This site has a a few tongue in cheek predictions for how the world will end in 2021 - zombie apocalypse, second coming and hidden Torah code. Also lists a few of the better previous end of world predictions including Harold "Carry On" Camping who was nothing if not persistent. When his May 21, 2011 prediction came to nothing he pushed it back 5 months before finally admitting that nobody really knew

I worked with someone for a long time (including pre internet), a big fan of Icke, who himself peddled the full array of fiction at meetings of grannies in West Sussex.
Everyone now and then he’d announce the apocalypse to us at work, always a precise date. They came and went.
We were bunch of piss takers, his musings the laughing stock.
I went to one of those rallies in August, leaving before Icke spoke. And you’re right. People on the left seem to think anyone they dislike is a very specific type. I went and saw a disparate conglomeration of vegans, Swampies, tinfoil hatters, animal rights protesters, Greenies, anarchists, New Agers, Ufologists, Hollow Earthers, trans rights activists, punks, old school socialists and batty old ladies.
And one bloke on the periphery waved a Moseley flag and the usual forum suspects said, “Oh, they’re all just alt right fascists.”
Classic “anyone I don’t like is a Nazi” thinking at best; dehumanising tactics at worst.
I am trying to understand in what way it is reminiscent for you? They seem to be opposite in quite a lot of ways to me.
indeed. the only common ground is the word "reset". they have very different agendas in batland (plural, different meaning to different factions).

Wisdom is wasted on the old.
It's a matter of history, and understanding it. The shadows of the past in Germany are worrying in America today. I'm truly staggered that anybody can fail to see the links.
I agree with your sentiment, and your sweeping statement. And the previous sweeping statement too.
A bit like Black Lives Matter and black lives matter - context...!

Interesting the Hollow Earthers were there and not the Flatties
Do Flat Earthers (splitters) and Hollow Earthers not get on?
This needs resolving with a poll.

Ha, well the Hollow Earthers are far more interesting with their Jules Verne-esque stories of hidden civilisations and SHIELD-like underground bases.
Flat Earthers on the other hand just say the earth is flat, which is pretty dull. They’re the trainspotters of the alternative set.
