what does everyone think of telesales people?

my mums just had some one phone her up trying to sell insurance, and shes still ranting abotu it half an hour later. i do telesales. are we really that bad?

Yeah but I do sympathise with people who are forced into working for companies like Inkfish cos unless you fancy a stint at ASDA there really are no other jobs going in Brighton.

I hate the way they always ring at key times, like when you have just got in from work and are having your tea.
They have even started ringing on sundays now.
I hate them (Sorry Poke).
If I want something I will go out and buy it.

If someone calls me up and asks if I want insurance, I am hardly going to say ' hmmm yes, I' ll think I will treat myself today, yes some new insurance that sounds nice, lovely thanks so much for calling, I wouldnt have thought of that otherwise'.

It should be made illegal, I find it an invasion of my personal time and space.

I know its your job Poke, but trust me, there are others out there, dont stoop to this. You are worse than Estate Agents.

In our house if the phone rings about 8ish in the evening, its probably a salesman, never answer it.............!!! they never leave a message, and if its someone you know they will leave a message.....no problem !

I cannot be recommended by a firm because that breaches the date protection act. So it would have to be someone I knew. Anybody who knows me well wouldn't recommend me to a firm who would ring up cold calling

I used to work as a tele-sales agent in manchester and its bloody hard work,but the commision was quality,It gets so so so boring,250+ cold calls per day and quite hectic to.

But its the bst group of people ive ever worked with,But saying all this i used to blag so many people in to getting the item i was selling and really i was just screwing them,Hey thats life!
