A teacher, I remember having one of those conversations with the careers teacher who suggested I should set my sights a little lower, as being a teacher required a intelligence (paraphrasing here). I went on to become a teacher and after graduating made sure I paid a visit to the school where she still worked. Needless to say, she didn't remember me and I was stuck in a career I probably shouldn't have gone into because of one stray snidey comment. On a side note, the computer test they made us take at school for careers, came back with suited to be a dental assistant of all things, did anybody else take one of these?

I got all manner of teacher related things.

A Binman ... cause they seemed to only work until lunchtime and drove big trucks. Took the computer test thingy at school and came back with Aero engine fitter or Florist !!! Also had a schools career chat where Hotel Catering and Management was obviously in short supply. Luckily not done any of those things ...yet ;o)

I used to want to design road systems, I spent hours as a kid creating roads on my bedroom floor for my toy cars. Come to think of it I was possibly slightly sadistic enjoying people suffer in roadworks! I've turned out as a software developer so a slight change in direction.

Yes, it suggested Naval Architect or Musical instrument maker for me
