The Glory of Their Times - Lawrence S. Ritter

Quite simply the best baseball book I've ever read. Published in the 60s, a series of interviews with major league ball players from the turn of the previous century. Such different times back then.
Fantastic book, if you like baseball.

The Old Ways by Robert MacFarlane

This is great: he's a nature writer and he's writing about ancient paths, walkways and causeways that criss-cross the UK. He hasn't reached the South Downs Way yet but I'm sure he will.

Have been tempted, but put off by comments about the writing style and reader confusion over who is speaking at any one time.

It’s not a read 3 or 4 pages and put it down. It’s a sit down for a proper reading session and get into rhythm with it. Not going to say it isn’t a bit challenging, but actually we’ll worth it once your brain engages with the style. Got to say I’m really enjoying it now, but first 1/3rd of it was a little difficult.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
I've been watching the BBC series of Wolf Hall on the iplayer. I had forgotten how good it was.

Bob Willis - a Cricketer and a Gentleman

Excellent so far with some good factoids - he bowled 969 no balls in test cricket!!! He shared a flat with Martin Tyler (commentator)

The Matarese Circle by Robert Ludlum.

This is the only book I ever read twice. Watching the Bourne films the other day (also by Ludlum) reminded me about this book.
It's as good as I remember it an would make a terrific movie
