Looks like Montoya is officially this week’s scapegoat despite keeping Mr Tumble quiet

He seems to be most weeks scapegoat unfortunately. A shame really as l thought he got forward a lot, and was one of our better players. Not that that says a lot.

Trossard £15m.

I think that is way over their value.
On performances this season, Dunk is no more than £20 M
Trossard and Jahanbahsh no more than £10M although I think both would thrive in the Championship.

White would sign for a Premiership club with Leeds being likely if they don't bottle it again.
Plus a lot of our loanees would be sold to balance the books.
Think Ryan might go too.

Perhaps GP would have a huge clear out and build again with some of the U23s and the better loanees.

Dale Stephens when he plays, trumps anything MM gets. From repetitive bitchy comments to stuff bordering on hate … a poster even admits that they "can't stand the bloke".

Swansea had the squad ripped out of them trying to save costs before GP arrived. Potter gave numerous debuts to kids such as Daniel James, loaned out squad players like Oli McBurnie came back etc. etc. A set of circumstances that led to a fair amount of chopping and changing.

But he did it at Ostersunds too. He would even drop the previous week's man of the match if he thought it matched up better that way against the next opponents. Unfortunately it worked for him there so he probably thought it always would.

Let's not confuse say the likes of mine and [MENTION=21158]Weststander[/MENTION]'s comments on a player being scapegoating. He hasn't been blamed for defeats. It is merely opinion on his ability and contribution at this level. I don't hold Montoya responsible for our current position, but neither do I rate him as a very good PL RB. Sorry, but that is an opinion, and said earlier can't really fault his effort and application. If he was good enough, he'd have held down the RB spot unless injured or suspended for the last 2 seasons. So opinion here is also backed in part by 2 separate PL managers.

Apparently there are 11 players on £40k to £50k a week, I would imagine half of these would have to go, at least on loan. Whilst not massive wages, there are not many outside the PL will pay them so it may not be possible.

Dunk would probably go for around £35 million, Propper £12 million plus. AJ £8 million if someone will pay his wages.

To return to the original question, I presume Propper would go back to Holland for about £10m. Trossard and Jahanbakhsh will also end up back somewhere in northern Europe for about half what we paid. Dunk to Chelsea for £35m, Duffy to West Brom on loan with a view to a permanent deal, Ryan and Mooy to Germany for a couple of million each. White to the highest bidder. Izquierdo will retire. Mac Allister will go back to Boca on loan, this time with an option to buy if we don't go straight back up. Montoya back to a lower-half team in La Liga for a couple of mill. Button and Steele will go on frees. Bissouma on loan to somewhere in France.

That will leave us with Walton in goal, Schelotto at right back, any two of Webster, Burn and Roberts in the centre and Bernardo on the left. Alzate and Stephens in centre midfield, Lamptey and March wide, Molumby and Gross battling for the number ten role and Connolly and Maupay still failing to keep Murray out of the side. Probably.

There is much truth in that, although I think Duffy would stay. I think the club would pay good money for another striker and a Division 2 frontline of Maupay and A.N Other would see a play off challenge. Possibly.

The Sale of White's contract would be fun to watch. Especially knowing that 90% of reports would be wide of the mark.

I also refrain from getting personal about a player, even if I think they’re not imho quite the level we need (other than that wage-stealing fck Akpom). Unlike some other posters who’ve bizarrely, personally hate Muzza and Stephens for example ... I’ve had amicable debates with one of the Muzza haters, he candidly admitted that he can’t stand the bloke.

He'll want to maintain his income, and to play in a top flight to maintain his place in the Dutch squad. imho.

Exactly, you're not resting any of our team because they've had a good game and you want to save them. Hell no. Every change Potter is making is to try and get us that win, try to get us those goals. Unless forced, each change is because he thinks there is a better option waiting to come in.

I think Potter made just a single change between winning at Arsenal then home to Wolves and that was Connolly. After the Noriwch win, Duffy had replaced the injured Webster and that starting XI stayed the same effectively at ManUtd. Between Bournemouth win at home, think we made only 2 changes home to Chelsea which was in a very busy period.

We start winning/scoring I don't think the team will be changing anywhere near as much.

Some would argue one of the reasons we're not winning is because of too much rotation.
How do you explain on the occasions where players have played well for a game or two but dropped thereafter?
