What a ridiculous situation we have got ourselves into. Minutely examining whether someones pubes are offside when the player is not even in the Penalty box. The time wasted to examine something that could in no way be decrilbed as goal haninging. The VAR system is bollox but it makes money so we are stuck with it. It’s still bollox because it has not stopped discussion it has generated more. No problem with that but it holds up the game unnecessarily.
Yep the offside law as it currently stands is just an excuse to disallow perfectly good goals rather than punish players deliberately seeking an advantage by being ahead of the defender.

What I don't understand about offside is, if Mitoma's shoulder is what they were looking at there. And if his should is offside by an inch or so, then they disallow the goal. But by that logic how did that Roma goal get given last year? Was that just an appalling decision? Because its so clear that the Roma player's arm, should and head were all past the player.View attachment 192876
Thanks for the PTSD

The vision and perfect weight on that pass by JP to completely dissect their defence was just pure FILTH. That pic captures it perfectly.

It's hard to tell from the camera movement, but I think it was also a no-look pass too, in the sense that he looks out wide as he plays the ball but essentially knocks it straight ahead (ish). There was one camera angle which kind of showed it but you had to freeze frame it to really see it. Absolute skills.

Yep. He was definitely giving them the eye. You can see via several angles on here >>
