High up on the South Downs.
Tell you what would be class - that pub that is now a Student Union place in Lewes Road that used to have the lunchtime strippers. Kick out the little emo freaks with their jeans hanging round their arses and bring back the ladies. Granted - they all looked like moonlighting dinner ladies but think of the money that would pass through that boozer.

Splendid idea!!
Have happy memories(mammaries) of the Ship!

Wasn't the Supporters' Bar going to be in the city college building that has had funding withdrawn?

I still reckon that idiot at The Swan will have his head turned and turn his dump into a pre-match pub.

No. That's not a planning matter.

It's a licensing matter for the City Council to deal with when the Club choose to put in an application. And I doubt if they'll do that until the premises are ready.

Isn't there certain conditions that were imposed that were subject to the planning being granted etc, Park & ride, max number of other activities that are not football, live music etc ? what do they come under if not planning, they have to be linked somehow ?

Those are all matters that the planning authorities (and the Public Inquiry inspectors) decided were "material considerations" that affect whether or not planning permission should be given and whether planning conditions should be imposed on the developer.

During the whole of the stadium planning process, the sale of alcohol was never discussed as a material consideration and the word "alcohol" doesn't appear at all in any decision letter or in either of the two Public Inquiry reports (a total of 438 pages). The Club is therefore free to apply to the City Council to sell alcohol and it will use the normal licensing procedures to do this.

There is, however, a reference to "bars" in the planning permission that was granted - so it is obvious that they expect alcohol to be sold.

Condition 27 of the planning permission is this:-

27. All events within indoor bars and indoor function areas shall only take
place between 8am and midnight Monday to Saturday and 8am and 11pm
on Sundays, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Local Planning
Authority.

only trust in the lord

I love these panic/the club has cocked up, type threads. I for one KNOW that the club won't let us down.

the club wont let us down?

1) increase in admission price 78/79 season by 30% £1 to £1.30

2) two chartered trains failed to make nottingham forest league cup tie 78/79

3) failed to arrange proper tour may79 ended playing 6aside games in san diego

4) club planned ground share with palace 1980 palace went with ground share with wimbledon (say no more)

5) club sold wembley tickets to man utd in brighton end causing problems

6) club sack chris cattlin

7) club re-employ mullery while sneaking barry lloyd in the back door

8) brighton sell dean saunders for £60,000?

9) barry lloyd drops nelson for play off final?

10) 1990-1997 seven years of getting let down(buy the book)

11) nearly forgot they sold our ground!

12) luton jpt disaster

13) no fan s.o.c.i.a.l club at knew stadium

Also the club said if you went to sunderland away on a tuesday night you would get a 83 cup final ticket, they lied

Can anyone hear barrel scraping?

Wing back thats my position

how many times does it have to be repeated?

The directors held two meetings with the falmer for all team - specifically to discuss this - and they have promised that there will be a bar at falmer, run by the fans.

falmer for all team, dont tell me they are still going?
What about the archer out forum? Or the reinstate pat saward lobby! Just because you may hear voices in ones own head does not mean we can all hear it,and theres a chance it might just be hitlers brain mole.
Hope thats made my position clear
ps we all want the same thing we just dont know it

why is everyone getting so involved in what is a dumb thread? Shit, I've done it myself. Still, I will have to console myself with a drink at falmer (eventually).

1) Inflation was officially running at about 10% so in real terms this increase would have been predictable
2) How was the club responsible when the fault was with the rolling stock which at the time belonged to BR ?
5) Manu fans also obtained tickets from various sources including county FA's and participating club members that sold them on to touts.
8) Deano had to be sold to avoid the club being wound up.
11) The Goldstone was sold to wipe out accumulated debts , what we didn't know at the time was Archer had an evil plan to trouser the remaining profit and let the club die.

1 brighton had one of the highest admission outside div 1
2 the club were warn of logistic problems of running 3 chater trains to the same match
3 dean saunders was not sold to save albion getting wound up(beeney) barry lloyd who sold him spent over £800,000 on rubbish no shoe string magican
4 the goldstone sold for 7million developed sold a year later for 24 million i feel let down with that one.
5 they also bought tickets does not excuse the club selling bulk tickets to united for the promise of a friendly.
open your eyes and hear the truth

I think this post makes your position very clear.

The voices I heard weren't just in my head. They were in the Falmer Stadium project office.

Insider has answered a question on ATC , the social club/bar was to be in the underground bunker (Tellytubby House) but as the funding connected with the educational facilities has gone tits up , an alternative is being sought.

If the directors have told the select few, then why can't everyone else be told of the plans?

There must be a fortune to be made by the club if done right.

To be fair on the face of it ROTR was actually right, lets hope alternative plans are made as we could be missing a huge trick. Its all well and good saying that sky sports etc will be playing in the concourse area but people want to sit down have a meal, read a paper etc. somewhere like boots and laces at plainmoor. Lets hope something can be sorted, perhaps even the club leasing a site along lewes road for this?
