Now that is sad. Jade Goody could take note as to how to die with dignity.

Low blow. JG is 27, 27 not 68 and is getting money together to secure her kids future without her and has risen awareness of Cervical Cancer and smeat tests than the last 10 years of NHS campaigns has ever done. Well done mate :wozza:

Has it really? I doubt it greatly. Smear tests are compulsory in most GP pratices in London, the knowledge and awareness is there. For most people Goody pisses them off, she is not a positive role model.

She was quite a looker when she was young and also played a part in a number one single back in 1962, R.I.P. Wendy.

They're not compulsory, they just get offered to all women over 20, every so-many years (can't remember how many). They send you a letter to invite you along, but it's up to you if you go. I can reluctantly divulge it's not a particularly enjoyable experience, but most agree it's a necessary evil.

It's when the nurse is doing her stuff and then tries to make casual conversation like whether you're going anywhere nice on your holidays that gets me

nOT THE CASE,

Unless you take a smear test many praCtices will refuse to keep you on their books,

Ms LC has had to change practices on two occasions. AS FAR AS WE ARE CONCERNED THAT IS COMPULSION AND NOT OPTIONAL.

Very sad news. RIP.

But seriously guys, I don't think this is the right thread to be arguing about cancer stories, or having a pop at Jade Goody.

I genuinely used to think that a smear test just involved the woman wiping her minky with a cloth, and the resulting smear being analysed. I was quite shocked when I heard how INVOLVED it was.

:dunce:
