Political correctness is SUCH a lazy term for the mind-numbingly boring.

How about this? It is a cup final, big occasion and we happen to have a Welsh team playing in it. The Welsh Anthem is by far the best of all the home nations and I can't see a good reason why it should not be played. Why does politicshave to come into it?

Because that's what it is, when else has any Welsh side asked for their 'National Anthem' aside from the Commonwealth Games when all four Home Countries play their own anthem. After all, when was the last time Land of Hope and Glory or Rule Brittania played at a Cup Final ?

If anybody suggests that Cardiff, Swansea or Wrexham should play in the Welsh League their fans make a point of saying that the play in the Football League and not the 'English League'. That being so the National Anthem is God Save the Queen (which for all it's faults is at least short).

Barrell of Fun ? Don't you mean Barrell of a Fool ?

Having an opinion is fine, personal abuse is not.

Sure, why not? This year's FA Cup Final is surely only going to be shown on BBC Wales. Cos nobody else cares

It'll be the first f.a cup final that I won't bother to watch that's for sure.

Few inaccuracies there.

It is "The League" and not the "English League"

The National Anthem is not the English National Anthem.

In my view "The National Anthem of the United Kingdom" has no place at the "English FA Cup" final.

Now, (just speaking hypathetically of corse) if, say an English side had got to the Welsh cup final, (many English sides have done in the past) would the F.A.W sanction LOHG/Jerusalem to be played? Would they f***!

Stick to their own cup!

I don't think that's possible now. They don't even let Cardiff City enter.

There is no such thing as a Welsh National Anthem because much as we do not like or want it Wales is part of Great Britian (UK) and the British National Anthem is a tribute to the British Queen - God Save the Queen.

Land of our fathers is no more their national anthem than Land of Hope and Glory is ours.

Why is the statement I made wrong

The bit where you said there is no such thing as a Welsh National Anthem.

From I understand none of the bloody songs have any basis in law.

The Welsh Song is "by convention" the national anthem of Wales, God Save The Queen is "by convention" the national anthem of the United Kingdom.

If you want to take the opinion Wales that isn't the Welsh one, I think you can safely use the same argument against God Save The Queen not being the UK one.

Any constitution experts out there ?

1. Is the Queen not the Queen of the entire UK of which Wales is part of?
2. Is the National Anthem of Britain not God Save The Queen?

So is the National Anthem of Sussex GOSBTS?

I think we should play the Welsh national anthem as well as the British one, the welsh can then show the pride they have in their nation while the English can show that they daren't have pride for fear of upsetting somebody. And then we can let a few more immigrants in and close some more of our factory's. While we are at it we could blame Thatcher for Cardiff being in the cup final.

2) Yes

Don't be stupid

Wales has it's own Anthem too, which is the bit you are findind hard to understand. Just like they have their own flag.

England also its own flag (have you spotted it yet?), but doesn't have a national Anthem (unfortunately)

However we can all join hands and sing abide with me, with a brass band and a male voice choir.
