Thinking Stadium MK and the Madejksi are better sums Saints fans up really.

Anyone who says the stadium looks shit from the outside is lying. Even today after going to every game so far, as I walked towards it from the train station I was memorised by it. It is simply stunning. I LOVE it.

I don't care what a stadium looks like. Frankly we make much more of an atmosphere at St Mary's that you did today.

To be fair as away fans they have had the experience of the best grounds in the land in the last decade.

Their opinion might be different once the Amex is "complete"

The few that ever travelled away when they were in the Premier League, that is.

Mind you, I agree that the North Stand is not big enough for a home end, and never will be unless they move the club offices and extend the seating deck backward and upwards...

Enough.

As much as I love the Amex; this rings true with me...

Mate give it a rest, we havnt got a fan base like a big club like liverpool so we dont need a huge kop end tht we wouldnt fill. Its loud, looks good with pasionate fans on there feet, an goes mental wen we score...end of, eay your pie. Apologese but needed to be said.

Give what a rest - one comment about our stadium?
From where I sit, it looks too small; not deep enough or high enough; which would create an even better wall of sound!
And what are you blathering on about regarding pies?... :)

So the things I read on here about our support after that game were a complete lie then? Okay pal, bore off.

Only heard your lot about 3 times. With that boring "We are Southampton, We're top of the league" one. Last time I was at St Marys we created a better atmosphere than you and it was 0-0 for the whole game.

St Mary's is the ONLY away ground I've been to this season with a decent atmosphere, but it came from about 200 fans adjacent to the away end, once you were two or three nil up. Our fans get involved all round the stadium, every match. And you can't tell me you couldn't hear us as your fans kept gesticulating every time we sang a song - both the west and north stands - as they were unable to make themselves heard.

Almost every other set of visiting fans has been impressed with the atmosphere and today was decent.

I honestly think the Amex has the best all-round atmosphere of virtually any all-seater stadium I've visited of a similar size - and I'm an East Stander! Of course, we've all been at grounds for certain matches where the atmosphere has been electric, but for consistency I don't think it can be beaten. Went to White Hart Lane once when they were playing Liverpool - and it was completely silent! The reason I think the Amex stands out is that there is noise from all the stands (yes, even the East). Even Leeds fans were saying it was outstanding. I thought Southampton's support today was a bit lame - cetainly nowhere near the noise or intensity of Leeds or Palace.
