I took the OP comments as a genuine statement of pride at the response from the fans who chose to stay at the end to cheer the team.

It was a special moment at the end of a very disappointing game.
I was proud of the response too. I had no objection to people leaving early/at full time. I don't think it proves how good a fan you are.

It was just a really positive gesture and something all fans should be proud of whether they were able to be part of it or not.

I felt, that after such a great run, clapping them off after a heavy defeat which obviously hurt the players as much as us was something I wanted to do, I care not if other people decided to hurry home before the end. Each to their own.

If you think of this season and what the players and the club have done so far, they have been amazing on and off the pitch. How they behaved during the air disaster was impeccable. They used the tag #together and I feel they are playing their part, yesterday's response was for me showing we are willing to play our part. No entailment to win any game, if the team put in the effort they have shown we will back them to the end, no matter the result. A team playing without fear or pressure of expectations can prosper.

But whatever people's motives, a load of empty seats five minutes from the end of a home defeat looks terrible on TV, and doesn't send much of a message to the players when they were probably feeling even worse than the fans. Agreed. Do what you want to do, it doesn't make you a 'better' or 'worse' fan. Early leaving happens at every game in every league.

These threads have become incredibly tiresome but comments such as this one always makes me laugh.

It's precisely because I have a life that I'm not able to stay until the end. As someone whose works commitments means I'm barely around during the week to see my young kids, my weekend time is incredibly precious. So leaving a few mins before the end mean I get home 30mins earlier and I can spend those 30 mins with my kids.

So what would you prefer I do?

Give up my season ticket of many seasons and the associated revenues that the club benefits from? Because when it comes to having a family (or 'life') then in terms of priorities that is where mine lie despite of my love for the Albion.

I just really don't see the point of these threads. I'm pleased for those could stay and show their support and please do share that experience with those that couldn't. But equally don't use it as an opportunity to question the support off fellow fans who personal circumstances (which you do not know) dictated that they couldn't. That's just sad imo.

Upper East the seats to my right were occupied by a paper ticket (non ST). During the game he let loose on all our team as if he was the club owner (he wasn't). I asked him how often he saw the Albion and he said it was his first game. He was off to the bar with g/friend after 35 mins and back 10 mins into the 2nd half. Continued his onslaught until leaving on 78 mins. Wonder if he will be back?
ME? Saw the two Boro players leave after being interviewed on the pitch by about 8 people, and they were the last.

In fairness to him, he was. And I'm sure he clapped at the end. I just find it hilarious that I probably watched more of the game than he did, it takes me much more effort to see Brighton play than it does for him, and yet in his not so humble opinion, he's a better fan than I am because he stays to the end (and probably did some clapping yesterday).

Be grateful you childish uber fan or your moaning might make them leave. Then 'US' 10,000 fans might not be so lucky to dream of doing well in the championship. You are a mod too!

Also the reason why many leave early is not to do with whether like you they are an uber fan. I know many uber fans that leave early. Binfester!

I stayed, I thought it important to show the players we believe in them. Thought more people stayed at the end than some of wins! Singing them off was class, really pleased we as supporters did that - whether it was 5000 or 20,000.

Players were great after too, the kids outside the East Stand got loads of photos etc.
