Will always be the exceptions that prove the rule but generally those leaving are JCL part time fans.

I give a damn partly because it makes us look tin pot on telly and partly because it confirms just how many JCL part timers are in The Amex. It will take a generation of relative success before we can fill it with genuine fans who don't leave early.

Real fans go to games.

Loads of part timers probably watched on Sky, the East Upper had loads of empty seats at the South end.
Patches of empty seats all round the rest of the East Stand.

I applaud all those that bought a ticket to watch today's match , especially those that are not season ticket holders.
It would have been easy to watch the game on Sky at home or down the pub.

Some left a few minutes early, get over it.

Misquoted... simples

Except that if you go back to the posts i quoted you will notice that i haven't changed them at all.

You are clutching at straws here my hypocritical mega fan friend. Probably a good time to put the bottle and the keyboard down and go off to bed.

No, just quoted you

I was trying REALLY hard to banter you but it didn't work. Can, not bottle my friend, Guinness works for me. So after a huge, huge sigh I shall say this once more, I hope... I cannot stand uber fans that have to post a look at me thread to get attention about how they stayed until the end. I have stayed until the end of every game I have ever seen since 1973 but I have NEVER felt the need to post it online, or even big it up in a pub pre internet. Now, if you find that hard to believe, being an unassuming fan of the club that just answers others posts then fair enough. But before you post, know what, or even who, you are posting about. That is all xx

You are undoubtably the best type of fan we have. Not only do you stay till the end of every game but you don't feel the need to crow about it. In fact it amazes me that I even know what a great fan you are. Now i do know what or who I am talking about i will treat you with the respect you deserve :).

it is also wonderful that you wouldn't start a threat to make it all about you.

Enjoy your Guinness.

It will never ever happen. I've been to 74 current league stadiums over the years & I can assure you, at every single one of them, you get fans that leave before the end of a game.
You pays yer money & takes yer choice.

It's funny that this thread comes up today. I had a conversation with a guy at the match who made a snarky remark about people leaving early and how they aren't "real fans". I asked him how long it took him to get to games - it turns out he lives 10 minutes away. I promptly got up as 90 minutes showed on the clock and left, informing the "real fan" that I better get the bus so that my 2 hour journey home didn't become a 3 hour journey as I waited for the Mill Road bus queue to die down. I hope the extra two minutes of the game made him feel mighty up there on his high horse.

I also hope that he enjoyed the pints he went for on the 40 minute mark... In hindsight I'm going to enjoy my part time tag if that's the alternative.

Was he in his seat to clap our team coming out for the second half?
The ground was half full as the teams kicked off for the second half.

Well beaten today. Maybe not such a bad thing. Might show us what we need for the second half of the season. Boro were worthy winners so well done to them. They will surely be promoted this time.

Despite the result and our indifferent performance, I felt a great sense of pride towards the end of the match -when the result had long since been decided. And at the end of the 90 odd minutes, the collective realisation by many that this was THE time to stay and show our appreciation of the team and the club for a once in a generation run of results was heartfelt. The vocal support then was a great display of support and solidarity. It was quite a moment I thought. Only a shame that large numbers by then had already left.

Couldn't make game today, work commitments, watched second half on sky, great to hear Albion chant at the end. Keep the faith.

Seems a bit childish moaning at people leaving early.

We have a block of ten tickets. In our case there is a correlation between what time people leave and their journey home. Not whether they are real fans or JCLs.

Don't blame the customer/user/fans. Listen to them and look at ways of improving the system. In this case the transport.

So called real fans wouldn't call their own fans JCLs but would encourage new growing support.

The only bit I really buy is JCL parents bringing kids and the hope that the kids will turn into real fans. The rest of them are here for the padded seats and the "matchday experience". Most JCL adults are into their fifth season coming to The Amex and too many haven't learned how to do it properly yet.

Think the people who cleared off after the 3rd goal and lots before the final whistle missed something special at the end.

When you consider where we were last year and where we are now they deserve continuous applause. This is a hiccough from which we can recover.
