why are the media peddling the notion that most of the river crossings are from Albanians where the figures show around the same number of Afghans are crossing? Strange

No it makes a huge difference. They want to peddle the idea that it's all or mostly Albanians so people buy into the idea they don't necesarily come from war torn countries while not mentioning an almost similar number come from a Afghanistan, a country we invaded, occupied and surrendered to the Taliban, turning our back on it's civilians. They come back to the UK seeking sactuary and we have the audacity to call THEM invaders !!Perhaps it is because there has been a significant increase in migration from Albania since July
However, since May 2022, there has been a significant increase in the number of Albanians crossing the channel on small boats. From May to September 2022 Albanian nationals alone comprised 42% of small boat crossings, with 11,102 Albanians arriving by small boat in those five months. In contrast, over the whole of 2021 there were a total of 815 Albanian nationals who arrived by this method. In some weeks over the summer, more than half of small boat arrivals claimed to be Albanian.
Anyway I can't see that it makes any difference which country they are fleeing from , they all need to be housed and cared for without prejudice
What ever , everyone is welcome . room for allNo it makes a huge difference. 3rd most come from Iran, as we saw with Zagawi-Ratcliffe, they imprison an toture it's people and they have had massive floods due to climate change which we largely contributed to Then you have Iraq,a county we invaded illigally and caused unrest and the insurgence of ISIS, after that Syria, Etria, Sudan all in the misdst of wars. But no one talks about those nationals, I can only assume accepting the fact most refugees are genuine and come from war torn countries doesn't suit the racist narrative....
Indeed there is....providing we keep building more houses, schools, hospitals and prisons. Keep updating our road systems, widening and improving existing and building lots of new, particularly through open countryside. Keep increasing taxation to pay for an ever increasing population. Put more buses and trains on. We need to start building on undeveloped areas. The New Forest, Exmoor, Dartmoor etc rather than increasing the urban sprawl. What ever , everyone is welcome . room for all
problem is the Tories are funded by landlords so are incentivised to restrict housebuilding to keep property values and rents highIndeed there is....providing we keep building more houses, schools, hospitals and prisons. We need to reclaim land from the sea. We need fracking or nuclear...whatever. Infrastructure development is too slow. Too little of the Green Belt is being utilised.

But our economy is currently structured to require consumerism for growth. With an ageing population, a negative birth rate, the elephant in the room is that our current economic model needs population growth for economic growth.Indeed there is....providing we keep building more houses, schools, hospitals and prisons. Do you have an opinion on that?Mystery as dozens of child asylum seekers vanish from hotels in the city

More than half of the child asylum seekers who have disappeared from Hove hotels were still missing, councillors have been told.
Just 57 out of 125 missing children had been located, with 51 cases still under investigation. Most of the other cases had been “filed” unsolved.
A senior safeguarding official shared figures showing that 62 children, or almost half of those who had vanished, went missing in just two months last year – August and September.
The numbers had since tailed off, with no children reported missing since the start of the year so far.
And more than 90 per cent of the children who had gone missing were Albanian, possibly because they were “disenfranchised” by the asylum process, according to the official, Justin Grantham.
An article lifted from the Argus highlighting missing children from a hotel in Hove is political point scoring .Do you have an opinion on that?
No.
Of course you don’t.
Nice to use missing children for a political point score though.
You’ve shown us what you are there.

I don’t understand why unaccompanied children are in hotels.
Is there a shortage of people willing to be foster parents?
Me neither until I was told what the likely age of these ‘ children’ really is, a language school host family type of arrangement would be more in keepingI don’t understand why unaccompanied children are in hotels.
