Sad to hear some are self harming. Let’s hope they get processed quickly and those with legitimate claims get decent accommodation and can start their new life here in England as soon as possible.

With the lock down on there are rooms in Hotels available so I don't understand why these chaps are having to endure dreadful conditions in army barracks .

Not quite as simple as it would appear. You can't just stick a load of them in hotels and let them get on with it. These places have to be staffed with qualified people and trained professionals. Otherwise it would be chaos. Also not all hotels are willing to allow their properties to be used for the housing of immigrants or homeless etc.

Then Boris needs to get his finger out and prioritize house building for refugees with of course sufficient space for them to be able to bring their families over and live in the comfort that they deserve .

It’s not illegal entry. The asylum seekers are doing nothing illegal. We have an open door policy for refugees. They are coming here with the full permission of your elected government.

Yes .The government also needs to introduce policies and regulations to stop the mega rich and foreign investors buying up all the new properties and keeping them off the market, therefore maintaining an artificially inflated housing market, increasing the value of their portfolio.

If fools like PoTg and Pretty Dim Racist want foreigners to blame they could do a lot worse than long at the a Chinese and Russian billionaires buying up 60% of our housing stock.
