Welbeck has showed I feel he is our best finisher, it’s more important we keep him and loan Connolly out who is not yet at PL standard but might be with a season in the championship.

Hamstring injury so no chance for the weekend unfortunately

OK just found it on the Seagulls site

"Danny [Welbeck] will miss out with a hamstring injury, he will take a break for the summer now and be ready for pre-season.

I would have thought the right deal would be a 2-year deal but with an option for a third year.

This would given some of our promising kids the opportunity to develop in Year 1, go on loan in Year 2, then possibly return to compete for a matchday squad position in Year 3.

I think a two year deal will be fair.

It's unusual that this hasn't been put on the club site first

2 year deal is fair to both us and DW. He's scored 6 this year even though he was obviously lacking match fitness for the first 15 games or so. Next year he could hit 10+
