Potter has possibly slightly jumped the gun on mentioning this, but no doubt the official news on Welbeck, Izquierdo and Walton will come very soon after the Arsenal game.

That
“Danny will take a break now...and be ready for pre- season” Potter sounding like Welbeck deal is all done - quote was In the pre match email today.

Bloody hope so. His goals have been vital this season. Even if he plays 20 games a season, it's worth it imo.

Welbeck’s minutes per goal ratio in the Premier League:

Man Utd - 253
Arsenal - 269
Watford- 408
Albion - 232

Don’t bet against him scoring against Chelsea again. He was only a few inches from a winner against Palace on Friday. Ignoring injuries and concentrating on his attributes, have we ever had a better striker at the club?

And to think he fell out of favour at Watford playing in the Championship.

Some of his finishing, like today, reminds me of what Murray used to do

A shout for Maupay's cross. It was pinpoint - right on Welbeck's head.

All he had to do was jump like a gazelle and place it precisely in off the post, just where Schmeichel couldn't reach it. Piece of cake.

It reminded me of when CMS found Ulloa’s head in the Forest game.
Strikers know where to put the ball, I guess. He should cross more often.

When you see what teams pay for a few goals at this level

Still 31 and doesn't hit 32 for the best part of a year

More to the point, it's when you see what teams pay for no goals at this level, thinking they're getting a striker, but what they're really getting is a DJ who is afraid to head the ball !

I mean this in all serious because he has spent so long on the treatment table he's fresh. His muscles let him down but his joints should be ok

I wondered about that as well. Perhaps they had been practising that combo on the training ground.

It would explain why Maupay stayed on when Welbeck came on.

Might as well sign him up for another year already. While he is no longer one of the quickest players in the league, he seems to have adapted well and improved his aerial ability. At some point he will need to be phased out but he will no doubt be useful for another year.

Think you're wrong, he is still quick.

Vital, fantastic goals, love him.

He offers something up front that we don’t have elsewhere.

With every club in Europe itk about every striker with any talent, it’s incredibly hard to get that ‘15 league goals a season’ player. In that marketplace, I’m content in us having an injury prone Welbeck.
