So... we're just assuming he signed a new contract right?

Strange not to communicate it.

Apparently we triggered another year clause rather than new deal signed.

Is he kind of the forgotten man of our attack due to his injuries ? If he could stay injury free it would be like getting a new player BUT his stats don’t suggest that will be the case which is a shame.

Oh dear somebody’s holding a grudge :lolol:

Tell me why then ?

1. Not forgotten since he played pretty much every game in the spring and did very well.
2. He would not be like a new player since he's played a lot since joining
3. His stats suggests he will available for most of the season

Given he’s been injury free for months and the stats show that he featured in 21 out of our last 22 games - and Potter clearly rates him as his first choice striker/and last few months of last season it was like getting a new player then who has forgotten about him again ?

Andy Naylor, the one and only, said I'm the comments section of an Athletic article that it had been triggered. That's good enough for me

Curious. This article:

But the club confirmed within a press release and update on their website late this afternoon that he is “set to sign a new contract this summer”.

That was two months ago. I'm sure I wasn't the only one reading that as 'he's going to be here next season because we've agreed a deal and just need to dot cross the Ts and dot the lower case Js'. Now two months later it's a case of us triggering a clause, and no contract signing confirmed as yet? Again curious. Not worried, or suggesting anything untoward, just curious.

I think that a fit Danny Welbeck at 31 years old taking out his frustrations of a significant number of seasons limited by injury could be a complete f***ing MONSTER !

That's what I think and hope

Fingers crossed you're not at the back of the north Stand!!!!

Anyhoo going large on him scoring tomorrow.
After all the chances he missed v Utd, last time, he's clearly going to spend the whole game shooting - one must go in!

1)Every game in “spring” ?! Had you said “season” that would make sense.
2) Quite a lot were as Sub (manager no confidence in him or injury prone)
3) If my auntie had bollocks ! That last ones embrassing

Had you come up with some good reasons I may respect you BUT you didn’t and you are still upset about my fishing trip on the Cucu thread. Hay ho.

Do your own research………into his long term injury history, what has happened in the last year or so and his playing record since he returned from his last operation.

A goal every 3 games. Yeah, a fit welbeck would be a great thing to see. That’s what I said in my post ???
