Brighton / Hove actually

Yep, I used to get this quite often but not for the last ten years. When you don’t understand it and it happens to you it is scary, and when you do understand it’s a little less scary.

Best thing to do is relax and chose the vortex and go back to sleep, and don’t let your mind scare you.

It’s normal but doesn’t happen to everyone.

Had a really strange experience myself when a group of us were on a drive. It must have been about 1am and hadn't been drinking as we just fancied a drive around like kids do. We were near Downe in kent and realised we had gone the wrong way so went through the gates to Downe House which were open and we had no idea why. The car park was empty and the lights were all off, we did a u turn and as we were about to leave the lights just went onto this young boy that can't have been more than 8. He was dress like he was being evacuated in WW2, we all screamed (rather amusing see as we were 17-18 year old blokes that thought they were hard as nails) and steered around to the entrance. We thought maybe something was wrong so looked behind us and there was no one there. We drive off but curiosity got the better of us so turned around and were back there 5 minutes later - the gates were locked and there was no sign of any movement and not even our tyre tracks on the gravel where the u turn had been a little excessive. The weirdest experience of my life.

Second thing happened to a friend of my nan. My great man had passed away and was found by my Nan and her friend. She said to her friend that she had to call the nurse and would she stay with the body. When she got back from callin the nurse to come she apologised to get friend for leaving her like that to which she got the reply 'It was OK, he was here and looked after me'. She then proceeded to describe my great grandfather in perfect detail including the suit he was buried in 30 years before. She had never met him or seen a picture (the suit was purchased just for the funeral) Apparently he appeared near the door, smiled at her and made her feel unbelievably calm and then walked to the body of my great Nan where he disappeared. This one Tory has made me never challenge the possibility of spirits or ghosts

I had to break off reading this last night. I don't have any stories like this, although my family have lots of spooky experiences. My great grandmother was a medium, and my Nan had the gift apparently, although she refused to use it. I have never wanted to be open to it, so I've never seen anything.

When I've got a few minutes I'll try to recount some of my families ghost stories

Four days after my Dad passed away I was sitting at my Grand Fathers bedside in hospital, he told me it was getting late and I should go home, I asked if he needed anything and he said "No boy, I'll be fine now, your Dads here"

He died later that night.

I went to see a clairvoyant once, and half way through she started laughing so I punched her.

I always like to strike a happy medium!

I'll get me coat.

"Are you my mummy"? For Doctor Who fans, moving any stone garden ornaments so that they are all looking in the patio doors is fun.

One of the only Doctor Who episodes I've ever watched, and I immediately thought of this. Christopher Eccleston was the Doctor I think. Was seriously creeped out by it when I saw it.

Interesting thread, although the amount of story tellers that have used drugs makes me wonder a bit...

Plus the fact that many experiences are due to lack of sleep or extreme times of emotion (such as grief). Hate to be a realist but it simply shows the power of the human mind and how it can work at times of anxiety, stress and tiredness.

This has literally just happened, my girlfriend has just woke up (American). She'd had a bad nightmare trapped in her car and people trying to grab her from the back seat. Woke up, went to get in the shower and there is a hand print that doesn't fit her own on her stomach.

I genuinely think there is something in that. Not so much as in taking drugs and hallucinating or forgetting how you got somewhere but too many class A's certainly bring a darkness into life. It's why I stopped them completely. Not that I was a huge consumer of them. Done Mushrooms 3 times and acid about 3 and pills a few times ,was all in a fairly short time period though. That is all it takes with some people. They definitely affect ones mental health for a long time.
