Whilst I'm saying, as I see it, that's exactly what it is.Again the perjorative - 'pack him off', 'kicking the can down the road'. Yet again you are describing a Locadia type loan, not a White/Sanchez/Longman/Richards type loan - a different animal altogether.
I am not - and I don't think anybody else is either - recommending a Locadia type loan for Connolly.
As you said on the other thread, he is a PL player, he has had that experience.
I agree with you hindsight does suggest mistakes have been, on all sides.
What I'm saying is dress it up all you want I just don't see any benefit in loaning a Premier League goal scorer down to League 1, esp if you're questioning his mentality.
Connolly has already had the White/Sanchez/Longman/Richards type loan with his short stint at Luton.
I just can't see him taking to the move, knuckling down, getting his focus right and returning the player he wants to be.
If IF the club were more adept at buying strikers we may well have spent last season demanding Connolly's loan to Swansea was cut short and he replaced everyone we had!
Again, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Mr Bloom has (much to my surprise) said 'f**k this 16th bollox, I want us up the table'.
To me that suggests a new striker.
Welbz stays
Maupz stays.
There's no way the club are going into next season with those 3, all the time Welbz is one of them.
So we're down to 1 from 4.
Connolly
Andone
Locadia
Tau - to a lesser extent.
Personally I'd keep Andone, sell Connolly, marry Locadia - sorry wrong game - offload Locadia & Tau.
But the smart move for the club would be keeping Connolly (he's the value) and offloading the others.
