We Could have All 9 Points From Our First 3 Games.

Okay, so we have 1 point out of 9. Slade is playing 4-5-1, and i don't know a single person who is in agreement here. However, there must be a reason behind it, and it seems (according to the official website) that if Forster is fit, we will see our long awaited 4-4-2 tomorrow.

Onto the points.

Against Walsall, all that seperated us was an unfortunate own goal from one of our most comitted defender, Whing. For a team that has never played together, i thought we played well, and if we had not been so unfortunate we could have EASILY won, by the way we played. POSITIVE.

Brentford: I thought we were unlucky in this game. People were writing us before the game with our past record, but as a team we played well, with Wright having his good effort just tipped over the bar by Price. Crofts scored, which was dissalowed for a foul, and judging by the replay, I am in no doubt at all that it was a goal. Not only could we have won, but we SHOULD have. POSITIVE.

Huddersfield was one of those games, after El-Abds hurrendous error. I think we all agree that we were equal, if not on top of Huddersfield in the first 20 minutes, and as a midfield 5 and Dickinson as a loan striker, we were moving and passing well. A few gaps in the defence allowed them 2 goals before the dismissal, but against a team of Huddersfields class this was expected by all. After Dickinsons superb strike, giving us our first goal of the season, i believe that we could left the Galpharm stadium with all 3 points.

These are indeed all 'ifs' and 'buts', but they are all most importantly small changes that could make a huge difference. I hope Slade plays 4-4-2 on the weekend, which should end in our first win of the season.

So although we have a rather lonely, small, 1 point, we have certainly have had our fair share of bad luck, so lets all keep the optimism high and look forward to our first 3 points tomorrow, with many more hopefully to come.

Well put, keeps things in perspective.

We lost one of those games 7-1. Saying we could have won it seems a tad ridiculous.

and having been at the game, I would say there was no way we would ever have got a win that night!!. We were already 2-1 down when El Abd made his gaff. We had one upfront.

Yes we played well but we didnt create much, apart from force a few corners. McLeod had a shot on target from distance, and Dickinson scored his only effort on goal

Walsall did we have a shot on target? Brentford did we have a shot on target?

I didn't go to Swansea or Hudds, but from what I can gather we have had ONE threatening shot so far this season. I'm no doom-monger and think things will improve, but how you can suggest we should have 9 league points is absolutely beyond me.

All a bit delusional I'm afraid Jordan.
We've been piss poor so far this season. We carved out ONE chance against Walsall, which Forster put over the bar. Created absolutely nothing in the way of a clear-cut opening at Brentford, and got brutally raped at Huddersfield (not to mention the 'we're not worthy' lay-down-and-die-why-bother-turning-up capitulation at Swansea).

DRASTIC improvement required, and quick, or Slade looks like he could be a dead man walking already.

I never said we should have 9 points, and i know i am being extremely, if not unrealistically optmistic. Walsall was a game where we only had 2 clear cut chances, but the manner in which we played suggested we could have had many more.

Fair enough we got butt-raped at Huddersfield, but i think we would have certainly got a draw, based on the first 20. You can't really judge anything from the point after the sending off.

At brentford, the fact is, we scored a fair goal, they didn't. Should have been 3, rightfully.

We could have won the FA Cup Replay in '83............based on the first 20. Curse those 90 minute games.

The point is, put things into perspective. We have not been as awful as many have said. Tomorrow will prove that.

If I was better looking and slimmer, I could have shagged Martine McCutcheon.

I will sit here, happily optmistic and pleased so far. You lot be miserable, and moan about how 'shit' the team is.

Theres a fair old range of opinions between "moaning how shit the team is" and somehow thinking we've actually been worth a load of wins this season...
