Okay, so we have 1 point out of 9. Slade is playing 4-5-1, and i don't know a single person who is in agreement here. However, there must be a reason behind it, and it seems (according to the official website) that if Forster is fit, we will see our long awaited 4-4-2 tomorrow.
Onto the points.
Against Walsall, all that seperated us was an unfortunate own goal from one of our most comitted defender, Whing. For a team that has never played together, i thought we played well, and if we had not been so unfortunate we could have EASILY won, by the way we played. POSITIVE.
Brentford: I thought we were unlucky in this game. People were writing us before the game with our past record, but as a team we played well, with Wright having his good effort just tipped over the bar by Price. Crofts scored, which was dissalowed for a foul, and judging by the replay, I am in no doubt at all that it was a goal. Not only could we have won, but we SHOULD have. POSITIVE.
Huddersfield was one of those games, after El-Abds hurrendous error. I think we all agree that we were equal, if not on top of Huddersfield in the first 20 minutes, and as a midfield 5 and Dickinson as a loan striker, we were moving and passing well. A few gaps in the defence allowed them 2 goals before the dismissal, but against a team of Huddersfields class this was expected by all. After Dickinsons superb strike, giving us our first goal of the season, i believe that we could left the Galpharm stadium with all 3 points.
These are indeed all 'ifs' and 'buts', but they are all most importantly small changes that could make a huge difference. I hope Slade plays 4-4-2 on the weekend, which should end in our first win of the season.
So although we have a rather lonely, small, 1 point, we have certainly have had our fair share of bad luck, so lets all keep the optimism high and look forward to our first 3 points tomorrow, with many more hopefully to come.
